He was okay on the show (AJ and Justin were the other 2 guys with fairly good voices; I think the top 10 that year should have had 7 women and 3 men). RJ publicly came out over a year ago. I've always thought said he was the best male singer that season (not saying much, I know, but...) while Justin was clearly the male with the most overall star potential. The rest of the Gay-Js were seemingly only picked to help even out the male/female ratio.
