It's losing viewers in the 18-49 demographic faster than the rest of the shows on CBS and television in general. That's all I'm saying. There could be a chance that the show starts to level off, but I deem that highly unlikely based on past history. This series is bleeding out viewers at a steady rate and it will eventually catch up with them down the road....but I don't think anybody involved or the fans will really complain when...

The thing is that it's not just Survivor ratings dropping. TV ratings in general have been on a downward trend.

^ it's impossible to know but how many out of the 12-13 million viewer fanbase would represent "hardcore fans"? percentage wise, less then .5% are probably devoted followers (like sucks). that puts things into perspective.

the pros of a 16 person cast would be less people for viewers to keep track of and more charecter development.

Keep in mind that I'm of the crowd that Survivor is doing very well for a show its age but it's actually losing viewers faster in the key demographic which is all that matters. I really don't think casual viewers care about how many people are in a season... what casual viewers remember is big characters. My roommates are what I would call casual viewers because they would only catch the show when I was watching it, and they didn't necessarily see every episode. But they certainly knew who Ace, Sugar, Marcus, Corinne, Randy, Crystal, and Kenny were by name. They probably would not know Susie, Charlie, or Dan. In Micronesia they didn't know *any* of the...

In Gabon midseason (after Marcus got ejected), casual viewers I knew were expecting a Crystal win. I know, so fuckin random. Thats one positive about this season... nearly everybody picked the wrong winner MULTIPLE TIMES during the season.

Hmm, the people I know love to comment on how stupid people are with the Idol. That's usually when I hear about the show the most, they'll go: Hey did you see ozzy make that fake idol, how funny was that... etc...

She's told me several times that she really doesn't even start following a season too closely until about halfway through since before that she claims it's "too hard to keep track of who everybody is".
