That's the damn truth. I just turned in my 2005 Liberty (lease, never again) and the stupid thing only got 17 mpg AVERAGE over 42K miles.

I ended up buying a Toyota Yaris 4D...

They mean like 100% Jeep, you know, it's like you're assurance of reliable rock climbing off-road prowess, the kind you only find in a JEEP...a traditional Jeep...like "all new" implies something was imperfect with the old, but Jeep is like, you know, rock solid famous ruggedness and you can count on that. It all Jeep, no filler. Flame broiled.

Jeep Liberty - Rock Me Gently commercial. I just noticed that the announcer says "The new all Jeep Liberty" instead of "the all new Jeep Liberty" at the end.

Unless they have been MASSIVELY improved DO NOT buy a Saturn Vue. Bought a 2004 model for the wife in Dec 04 and while it's been dependable enough mechanically it's a piece of crap as far as how it's put together. Door trim falling off, seat adjustment handle breaking, hazard button went inside the dash the first time it was touched, electric window buttons breaking, and on and on and on. Oh, yeah, they fixed each thing for free each time it broke, but it took 'em all frickin...

If you live in a cold climate, good luck keeping the car running. New biodiesel blends (50/50) don't work particularly well in cold climates.

I'm waiting for this summer when the 2008 Jetta TDI comes out. Its fueled with diesel gas and gets 50 mpg highway.

I like the new Honda CRV alot -- it's very sharp. But Hondas are lousy to buy used.

The new Saturn Vue is nice, and I also like the new Nissan Rogue.

It's a Honda CR-V. I'm thinking that I'm going to take the money and run, I want a cute new car. I'll probably go with another mini SUV. Anyone have a Jeep Liberty or a Hyundai Sant Fe? Are those good cars? I need something with 4 wheel drive...

Get a new car. Especially if you can get $5000 for a 10 year old car. What kind of car is it? Looks like one of those Honda mini-SUVs.

There are a lot of good cars on the market right now. And February is a great time to buy a car -- the dealerships are dead and you can probably get a decent price.

Having donated a vehicle to Goodwill before, they do NOT appreciate cars which are on the brink of extinction or require massive repairs. They'll take the car, but they'll turn around and sell it to someone for parts money, which ends up being less than the value of the car.

Monday night I was on my way home from the grocery store and a van pulled right out in front of me, turing left. I had no time to stop and I ended up hitting him in the rear quarter panel and smashing my car pretty well.
