The idol is only valuable as long no one knows or even suspects you have the idol. I think once someone knows or suspects you have it, you should just play it even if you think you dont need as it just puts a big target on your back.

A lot of people think that yul's use of the idol was the correct way to play an idol; but in reality his idol was different in that season as he could play his idol after the votes were read - so there was no blind side risk to yul. I remember at...

The idol isn't much good for long-term protect if you're already a huge threat or target.
But it is damn good in a merge or tie vote situation. Fans vs Faves were really 3-3, and Amanda nuulified the Fan votes.

It seems to me 1) it only puts a target on your back, 2)You would never know when to use it and 3) If you did have the balls to use it, it would only be dumb luck that you used it at the right time.

Appears to me the best thing to do with the damn thing is give it to someone else and than tell everyone you did. Am I wrong??? That or either never tell anyone you had it and hopefully use it if you made it to the final four, but more than likely you would be blindsided because everyone...
