I can't speak for the whole world, but I thought Susan's audition as shown on GBT was one of the most uplifting and beautiful seven minutes of television I have ever witnessed.

Susan is popular because way too many people (and the media) have created a Susan Boyle in their heads that can't be further from the truth. The Susan Boyle in the imagination of the media is this saintly oppressed spinster with an angelic voice (bonus points for looking fug) while the real Susan Boyle is a mentally not-quite-there, socially awkward, talented but not that talented woman who is having serious problems adjusting to the limelight.

The kindest thing to do for Susan Boyle is to allow her to go back to her village and live in obscurity. She's not cut out for life in show business and I wouldn't be surprised that this isn't her first stint in a mental hospital. I wonder if the producers of Britain's Got Talent screen contestants for mental health?
