Yeah, it can potentially change the swing of the game. Of course, they're not about to do something like say "when the idol's used all votes for the person with it don't count and whoever they voted for goes home".

The HII can be used in a plethora of ways. The problem is that everyone pretty much figures out who has it, and so that person then has to gauge whether or not he's in danger. Ozzy/Jason/James were fooled into a false sense of security, and thus didn't feel like they had to use it. Yau and Yul used theirs to the max of their ability. Terry and Earl were never in danger, so they didn't really need to use the idol. And the 4 Horsemen were outplayed and used theirs in the wrong...

the problem with the hidden idol is when you get blinsided. you wont even have a chance to use it.

I mean you have about 5-6 TC after the merge How do you know which TC you should use the idol at?

I think the lesson is to view the idol as one time reprieve to get whoever you want voted out and save yourself for one TC. I doubt that anyone will ever NOT use it again in any other season after this season, especially after the merge.

Maybe if you have a target and are a threat already. But if Parv\Amanda\Cirie found it next they'd probably be safe, because they majority wants to bring them to F4....

I just realized that this season had 3 back to back episodes so far where an idol was involved. Eliza's boot, Ozzy's boot, and this one, and none of them worked out for said holder. Is that some kind of Survivor record?

Oh ok, I misunderstood what you meant. I thought you meant that the two F10 swaps had ZERO impact on the game, when the one in All-Stars completely flipped the game around and prevented the Lex/Kathy F2 it was heading for.

There are also no consequences for voting someone off when you have a majority alliance and you just pagong everyone. Without going into further detail, I really don't think that is a logical...

Old school Survivor would never work. A lot of people (myself included) thought that by introducing the "twist" of no twists, it would actually throw the Survivors off-balance. However, upon further reasoning, how much do players REALLY account for twists in their plans? They STILL make alliances even though they could be broken up at any minute by a shuffle. They STILL alienate the minority members of their tribe. They STILL pagong minority alliances, and only shift the game...

No questions asked with me, F3 sucks, and should only have been used as a one time twist. Things were just fine when it was F2. Their tampering with this rule, one of the most sacred parts of the game, has really spoiled the end game.

Agree 100%. In fact, for me it just doesn't spoil the end game, it spoils the whole thing. I have not enjoyed the recent seasons as much, even in the early episodes because I know it's going to end in the F3. I know...

Ozzy: The thing is, it wasn't like we had to go to the end together. We just had an alliance to make it to the top five together, and then all bets are off. I was like, if I lose at that point, I'd gladly go home, that's fine. I did what I could to keep her safe in the beginning of the game.

With the coming of the F3 and the Idol, a F5 alliance isn't what it used to be. It can't remotely be a fair...
