In elementary school when the garbage lady would come by she would make us take the tabs off our cans and give them to her to put in a bag. I never understood why though.

Heh! I do this.

Maybe, I was under the mistaken idea that the pure aluminum tabs were easier to recycle and when donated to one of the Thai royal family charities would be 100% used for aluminum crutches for crippled children. There are a lot of people in Thailand that believe this.

But, frankly speaking I just love collecting them.

I'm so fanantical about it that I flying back...

Often local charities encourage communities to collect can tabs and donate them for various causes. But their value is no different to recyclers than the rest of the can. It's all the same aluminum.

She'd be better off collecting pennies from people.

Ok, we have some stupid parent at school who is having their kid collect those pull tabs from the tops of soda cans. What a waste of time. Those things arn't worth anything. Stupid idiots don't do their research. The poor kid thinks she's helping fund cancer treatment or somthing like that when in reality she's just wasting her time.
