I did not know which actor is was.. I had tickets that got moved and they were so nice about it and the letter was an actor had an unfortunate death.. and then when I got there on Saturday it was the buzz.. and I did not want to get into that gossip. My postman was on her softball team and knew her really well. He said she had been robbed earlier that week, he thought that was how it began as revenge.. it was thought a hate crime and now we know its a random maniac!!! Great. I go to South...

Yeah Glam, I heard about his sister, how horrific and senseless. It was Norman Leo Butz, how sad for him. To be here when it happened too.

And yeah KP I heard about "9 to 5" the other day. Oh well. I do hope it tours!

The gays love dolly.. I see this as a big touring production.

Caught the trials of the Catch Me if you Can.. it stars the actor who played the son in Next To Normal.... he has a voice that blows you out of the water. It has problems but its early days yet and considering the tragedy that surrounded it I am optimistic it makes to Broadway but then who knows.

Sadly that young actor who is so charming had such a horrid thing happen... his lesbian sister who also lives here...

seaguy, no billy elliot? i liked it much better than 9to5 and a smidge more than hair (although if jonathan groff was still there when i went...)

and i am pretty sure that 9to5 will take a nosedive in quality when the stars leave, unlike RoA whose talent was all pretty replaceable. as a matter of fact the female lead amy spangler was out last night and the understudy was fine

I saw Shrek, N2N, and Broadway Bares when I went to NYC. Pleasantly surprised by Shrek, thought it'd be complete shit, but was actually pretty decent. Maybe it was just my love for Sutton Foster <3

N2N was pretty darn amazing. The show's hilarious at parts, and heart-wrenching at others. Fantastic, fantastic set, you really have to see it to enjoy it. The singing and acting were all superb, and although there are only 6 characters, out of which 4 are "main",...

Hmm no stars attached to the revival so far. That means it's actually good. I don't think Christiane Noll is really a big marquee name outside of the theater geek community. I'm considering an NYC trip in the next year, it would be so nice to see the show done properly in a B'way theater.

Holy crap, Ragtime? I love Ragtime, it's one of my five favorite shows, based on the CD and video clips I've seen. I saw a touring show in Boston, and it was just alright. The Coalhouse they had totally sounded like a weinie, a very nasally tenor. Cris Groendaal was supposed to be playing Father, but there was an understudy. Overall, kind of a meh production.

Hair will still be running; the performer's contracts have been extended through at least March. Of the others, 9 to 5 is in the most jeopardy - big weekly costs, expensive cast, and a gaping maw of a theater. Next to Normal should stay running unless Alice Ripley decides to jump to another show.

The Ragtime revival looks great; saw the original 3 times. Its losses at the '98 Tony Awards had as much to do with backlash against producer Garth Drabinsky as it did with the love...

so i saw rock of ages last night and all i can say is that dolly was robbed. 9to5 deserved that last tony nom, not that either is destined to become the oklahoma of its time

also, i never realized how much 80's music sucks! that said, it was stupid fun and we laughed and drank and sang along. and constantine didnt make us wait forever at the stage door; he was out in like 20 minutes and was really sweet and gracious.
