It seemed like the stole a lot of story gimmicks from Lost == jumping around through time, dreams vs reality, etc... The Prisoner was not as good as Lost in making clear the chronology of events

I watched all 6 hours too. Don't know why. I feel like either it was pretty bad or I'm pretty stupid. On the other hand, Jim Caviezel is really nice to look at and I enjoyed listening to British people doing really horrible American accents (4-15/Lucy), which doesn't happen too often. In a weird way, I enjoyed it.

I watched it all - I win! I"M NUMBER ONE

So I liked all of the odd-numbered eps and not so much the evens. The first one because it wasn't hopeless yet, the third one for the surveilance theme & because it reminded me of Wild Palms, and the fifth one for all of the mindfuckery & Ian McKellen's performance.

Watching it is like a rollercoaster of liking it and then hating it and then liking it again and then being annoyed by it. The dialogue seems really clunky and misplaced, and the plot is sort of jumbled and weird, but then again, it IS The Prisoner. I haven't watched the third part yet, but I liked the ending of the second part with the whole I'm-not-your-brother thing and stuff.

That was the best hour so far, too. The fourth hour was pretty slow, but there was some payoff.

I'm liking it, so I'll stick it out - it probably helps that I'm not 100% in love with the original series. It's also totally geared toward a U.K. audience, which I guess is appropriate.

I gave up on it about 40 minutes into the 3rd hour. Esoteric isn't quite right - perhaps "jumbled mess" is more accurate. They did the cardinal sin in such dramas - they made me not give a damn.

It was 2 1-hour episodes. If you watched 2 hours, you saw them both.

I only watched the 1st hour. I watched the first 2 hours of the original last summer. This felt a lot like that.

I'm not sure what's happening, but I'm interested enough to keep watching. It's only 6 hours of my life.

Not exactly a lot of commentary. Not surprising, given that it's hard to figure out what the hell is going on. What bothers me is that a lot of it is sort of an idiot plot. I haven't seen a single one of his movies, so meh.

I've never seen the original but I've read enough about it that I've always been a bit intrigued.

I've watched some of the old eps on IFC, and I thought it was pretty good. I didn't like the final ep as much as the others, though. It seemed to veer way off into Wisconsin, and was audibly annoying. I'm hoping only a cursory knowledge of the original will make the miniseries work better, too. I didn't even look at the preview, I'm just gonna watch it.

I'm curious to see what they are doing with this. According to wikipedia the episodes are each based on an episode from the original series. If it is really supposed to be a sequel, it will be interesting to see how that works.

I'm glad they are basing one on Hammer Into Anvil. That was my favorite episode from the original. Watching #6 toy with #2 for the entire episode was great.

The Premier is tomorrow night, so it won't be long to see.

I think the original Prisoner holds up very well. For the most part, with their unique costumes and location, big screen tvs, and cordless phones, it doesn't look like something from the 1960s to me. The only thing that does look dated are all the lava lamp.

From what I've heard so far, it seems like this new miniseries isn't really a remake of the old series, so much as it a sequel that takes place in a new village 40 years later, with a new number 6. Jim Caviezel...
