Ethan and Nathan. For some reason I have a hard time keeping those names straight. Oh, and Neleh isn't pronounced Neh - Lee - Ah, you can't squeeze 3 syllables out of two vowels.

For those of you who have named your children unique names...do you get upset when teachers, relatives, etc. when they do not pronounce or spell your child's name correctly?

Howard. It sounds like an old man's name and Howie is even worse. There's a man named Howard Lugwig who writes a stay at home dad column for the Southtown Star paper in Chicago. He named his first son Howard because he was the fourth Howard Lugwig and wanted to continue the tradition, but calls the kid "Bubba", which is even worse because Bubba is what they call men in prison who rape other men.

I had a friend named Ralph but was always called "Red". Then he named his son after himself but he was never Ralph-they called him "Butch".So of course he had a namesake ,again not called Ralph-he is Peewee.
Why name your kid a name you hated to begin with?
