For my birthday my daughter got me HOT,FLAT,and CROWDED by Thomas L. Friedman but, with every thing else going on I can't find a way to get started with it.

The Ruins because I just finished the movie and people on imdb said the book is way better and explains more. I just don't know if I have the patience though since I know most of the plot now.

I just started reading this now. Good to hear it's worth the read. I've been wanting to read The Virgin Suicides for ages now, but it seems like every time I look it up at the library someone else had the same idea and checked it out.

I bought "Lullaby" by Chuck Palaniuk (sp?) a while back, but I still haven't read it yet. I keep meaning too, but then I pick up another Christopher Moore book and cannot put it down! I'm reading "A Dirty Job" right now.

There are a TON of classics I need to read.

I should search for some sort of "Books you need to read before you die" kind of list and go from there.

It's the same thing with movies. I never ever have time to watch them, but I REALLY want to go year-by-year and start watching all of the Best Picture nominees.

I got a copy of A Concise History of the World a few years ago with the best of intentions. Yet there it sits on the shelf, unread.

With each year that goes by, I figure it grows approximately 0.003% more outdated.

Catcher in the Rye. Actually, I want to read a bunch of books that most people had to read in HS. Because my dumbass school had us read stupid shit that no one has ever heard of instead, so now I feel like I should read those books.

Heh. I went through a Jane Austen phase last winter. Pride and Predjudice is still a great book.
