Season 1, Episode 1 .. and I just stumbled across it. I was hooked for life at the thrill as they ran through the mist in front of Victoria Falls.

Late bloomer here: Started watching at end of Season 12 and dedicated fan since. I will go out on a limb and say my fav season is TAR 6 because of the diverse cast (I don't care much for the winners, but so what).

Except choosing to avoid watching the majority of season 8. That season does not exist as an Amazing Race. There was nothing amazing about racing around the US looking for extremely LAME roadside...

I remembered the time Margarita got stunt when she opened the Roadblock clue details in Beijing, China. She insisted on doing even though Frank didn't really want her to do it.

I had no idea it was The Amazing Race, and I didn't know their names.

My first time was...

TAR12, Croatia leg, the very moment when Jen screamed, "THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOO UNFAIIIRRRR!!"

From then on, I've become a big fan of the show.

If it wasn't TAR12 that I first saw, I highly doubt I'd be a fan of this show. TAR12 is LOVE!

I wouldn't put the brickmaking and bridge climb in there; at that point they didn't know it was an NEL/there would be bunching/B&N would abort the FF. Still, she probably could've done at least half (I see her having no problem with the nut hunt and the teepee, but Colin did those also).

I agree that both were the kind of tasks that Colin could have done - but if even they both suffered the massive brain-damage necessary for these...

On an unrelated note, it's pretty ironic that the RB rule was supposedly introduced to give advantages to the same-sex evenly matched teams, yet the first season it was introduced all the same-sex teams left by Episode 3 anyway.

Adding to the irony, leg 1 had no roadblock, leg 2's roadblock was negated with the overnight rest in the Viking Village, and leg 3's roadblock was a needle-haystack clusterfuck.

ADC, you're just assuming she's willing to soldier right through the roadblocks. she could pull a flo & quit. for all i know she & the bowling mom could dangle all night at the climbing roadblock in the philipeans.

I agree it's about willingness, but I don't know how anyone can logically assume that someone as competitive as Christie (who didn't quit the HARDEST ROADBLOCK EVER, even though Bob/Joyce were more than 4 hours behind them)...

When it first started, I wouldn't watch until they were down to final 4 teams as the airport scenes drove me nuts..still does at times
loved the Rob/Brennen finish when they beat the team from NY who thought they had it made as they were from there but, got beat

totally missed the Flo/Zach season and when people kept talking about them , I watched it on a re-run

first full season was with Reichen and his partner and Team Guido..have watched them all since and...

actually, what mattered more was the willingness to do the Roadblocks. all of the Final 3 females in Season 5 are so reluctant to do a single Roadblock, and for Christie and Nicole, as though they got Roadblock phobia after the caviar. they didn't even think of which member to perform the Roadblock regardless of whether it requires more skill than strength or whatever, they just want to play safe if it turns out to be a tough one. and it doesn't necessarily occur to co-ed couples -...

Not really. She did complete the "hardest Roadblock ever" (according to Phil). It'd be speculation to assume she could definitely beat Karen in a head-to-head climb or that Colin/Christie would necessarily correctly divide the Roadblocks, but it's a fact...

First saw the second Malaysian leg in TAR 4 (the one where Millie & Chuck were eliminated) and liked the concept of the entire show. Turns out it was one of the few decent episodes in that season and I only started watching regularly in TAR 5. But still, because of that, TAR 4 has a special place in my heart.

Well, the first time was in pretty late 2003 I guess. My bro & I were channel-surfing and we stopped at AXN where we saw several teams of two in a frenzy to prepare, cook and then eat these large ostrich eggs and oh my god, I fell in love with the show. Yup... If you are a TAR fan, you'd know that my very first episode would be the leg in Tanzania in TAR5; where Charla/Mirna got eliminated.
