I thought Sally was loyal to La Mina? Or was she planning to flip at the merger if it was tied or something? Not that I doubt Sally would flip, she'd have been smart to do so, but she didn't do it when La Mina was down to guarantee her spot farther in the game, so why do it in any other situation.

The other poster is right, Sally did try to flip but Casaya didn't want her because they didn't need her. She also had the most strategic sense out of...

Yep Sally was flopping on La Mina in a 5-5 situation. She only really started to like Terry after the merge as she began to respect his challenge dominance and knew she was on the outside of the men's alliance.

I'm pretty sure Sally would have jumped to Casaya had the two tribes merged at 5-5 or La Mina went in up 6-4. She knew she was on the outside of La Mina's four guys and seemed to be smart enough to realize this.

I remember reading some interviews and stuff somewhere that explained that Sally had TRIED to jump over at the merge, but since Casaya was already up 6-4, they told her they didn't have any use for her or something.

It also didn't hurt that Casaya actually benefited from losing the first IC after the tribe pick'em because they traded in Melinda for Bruce. If La Mina had lost that IC and booted Misty or Ruth Marie to get Bruce, it would have been a lot less likely that Casaya would have had the numbers at the merger.

La Mina was bland but there was a reason for that: La Mina could have been Burnett's ideal tribe, a tribe that rallied behind one leader that had military training facing what appeared to be the most dysfunctional tribe ever. According to Game Theory, La Mina should have destroyed Casaya. Since that didn't happen, the story had to tell us where they failed. To achieve this, the editing took most of the emotions out of La Mina to present them like a machine where only the numbers...
