I have only went to one. I went to the Detroit show for Season Four. There were no meet and greets. I called, emailed, etc ... and there were none set up for their visit to The Motor City. They talked...

I don't like tap at all. I do appreciate that it takes some skill to do, but I just.don't.enjoy.it.

sucks, I didn't realize that! That's pretty neat, because they do seem to be elevated to "star status" much more than the SYTYCD contestants. I was just going off Frankie's post and assuming they didn't do it. Nifty.

I like tap in small amounts. It's got to be a pain for the sound guys to deal with because you have to mike the stage if you have tappers.

I saw Debbie Allen last night on a show called L.A. Tap Fest presented by her school, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. It made me realize that I'm glad that tap is NOT a heavily featured genre on SYTYCD. While it can be impressive, I don't really ever find it moving.

I don't know if it's because there's twenty people to split your love over, or if SYTYCD isn't as popular as AI, but the fans aren't nearly as rabid, which is why the dancers do the meet-n-greet, I suppose. I think it does really humble them, whereas the AI alum probably think they're bigger "celebrities."

I've got tickets. My little one and I are going to go with one of her friends from dance and her mom. We took her last year and she loved it. It's great because it changes so much that you don't get bored and the little dancers can love it.

I also went in season three, so this is my third year. We paid 55 for the tickets, about the same last year.
