Well, July is the summer sweeps month, so I'd assume that is one of the main reasons. Also, the sweeps period doesn't usually start until a few days in. That's why you see a lot of summer shows premiering in July and already running shows starting to end.

I really hope her water breaks during the finale.

I did think of something awful though...what if there is a Chenbot malfunction of some sort and she has to bow out as host before the finale? Will we be subjected to the now-unemployed beast known as Gretchen Massey? I do hope/suspect they have Chenbot preggers models stocked up just in case they need to do a swap.

Ohhhhhh, I kinda hope they change the shots of the evicted houseguests walking out the front door in the opening theme to shots of them coming in and shaking hands with Julie, so we can actually see how much bigger she's getting each week.

I need my reality shows to flow seamlessly one into the other. I'm suffering serious Idol withdrawals and SYTYCD hasn't really kicked it into gear yet. I like the idea of 16 contestants so BB cant start June 1 from now on. I don't want to crack under the strain.

INORITE! Its crazy .. I will watch BBAD I will watch feeds .. I get busy in the summer sometimes and i end up chstting or posting or wacthing feeds and people see me and think Im nuits .theyre like my Gawd youre on your computer againn watching that stuff./.. they just dont get it and God forbid I miss a weeks worth of shows as soon as i get the chance I am watching the eps I miss as I record them dilligently .. I don't mind the July start. I like not having my whole summer consumed by BB. Once BB starts I am completely addicted and totally distracted until mid-August or whenever I start to hate everyone who's left in the house. When I go out with friends during that time I can't enjoy...

The reason it starts in July is that with schools getting out in June, all the bars end up getting crammed with kids coming back home to get drunk with their buddies. If the bars are busy, that means the bar tenders are busy and if the bartenders are busy that means that 99% of the BB casting pool is busy.

No bartenders=no houseguest.
They have to wait for the after school drinking season toslow down

^^I've heard that too, and also CBS wants BB to end in September because it generates more advertising dinero. But like QSF said, just do 16 cast members.

Why the fuck does Big Brother start in July?! It's supposed to be a summer show and it runs into mid-september. Wouldn't it make more sense to start it early June and then have it run through mid-august?

Anyone else frustrated with this? Is it REALLY because chenbot needs June to vacation? Seriously?!
