As much as I hate seeing those whales clearly get butchered, the Sea Shepherds are totally out of their league and resources to even put up a battle. I appreciate their efforts, but how can you stop 3 whaling fleets at the same time and with little defenses like those stink bombs? Are they even effective?

The captin is a jackass! The Sea Sheapards bitched about the whaling ship aiming the LRAD at their helicopter pilot, but when the captin is told the flares he is shooting at the ships are erratic and could hit the helicopter he keeps shooting them! I think he was more dangerous to the pilot than the LRAD ever was. Plus he decides to switch from flares to some netting device used to rescue people that go overboard. Great job hopefully he won't need it or if he does it will be him overboard.

I'll go slow... The whalers can only take home X number of whales.

You do all you can to prevent a killing. But once a killing occurs, a whale is dead. You have to let it go. If you cut loose or foul a carcass then the bad guys will just go kill another to replace it in the number they take home. Now your cutting or fouling has two whales dead instead of one.

It was fun to finally see them go to "battle". Their incompetency baffles. I struggle to find something to equate them to, and the nearest I can get right now is that they are like King Arthur and his Knights....in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The biggest thing that pisses me off is their attitudes about the whales.

If a whale is harpooned, they want to cut the line. The whale is most likely to die, but that's OK to them, because they cut the line and the whale will die outside of the Japanese ship.

And if a whale is killed and pulled on board of a processing ship, then they want to toss foul chemicals onto the ship to destroy the whale carcass. So the whale died without cause. And another whale will be...

Another episode of momentous fuckuppery. How these morons have lived to this day astounds.

It seems every time the inflatables are sent off for a mission, there is total communication breakdown. Nobody ever seems to know what they're supposed to be doing. They try to fuck up the whaling ship's prop with an uber-expensive "stronger than steel" net.... and the ship's rudder cuts through it like butter. Comical.

I so enjoy watching this show....

I've been watching this show, and I've never been an eco-freak to begin with, but these self-righteous clowns actually have me rooting for the whalers!

There was an episode last season where they needed two crew members to do something really dangerous - I think it was board the whaler ship and possibly get arrested and thrown in Japanese prison - and the fatass captain pulled every guilt trip in the book on his underlings - "If you really cared about the whales...

It's hard for me to find a direct comparison, but these guys on Sea Shepherd are so incompetent that it is like if the Three Stooges (or the like) were pirates. Everytime they decide to put the small boats in the water, new levels of ineptitude are reached.

It looks like the Japanese whalers got a little smarter this time. The nets on the boats seem like a good idea. I wonder how the Sea Shepherds are going to deal with that--are they just going to resort to ramming them?

Are they really going to mess with the whalers while they're looking for a man lost at sea?
Is the Captain as dumb as he seems?
Are they really terrorists or just your average run-of-the-mill vigilantes?
