Just 3 months to go! Well, at best I guess, it's supposed to premier sometime in March.

I agree that it feels like we've been waiting for ages, but I'm glad they're doing it properly and not rushing things.

If this adaptation is even 1/10th as gory and sick as the two books, it is going to be the greatest series ever.

Read With the Old Breed and Helmet for My Pillow. The first book is one of the best written books on how sick combat against the Japs was. This series will sway a lot of opinions on the absolute necessity of dropping Fat Man and Little Boy. To save 10 times more lives than the bombs took.

I can't see this series being made without using up...

^I loved both of those films too, especially Letters!

Being from Europe I'm really excited to see a WW2 series focused on the Pacific, since I generally have seen more movies and read more about the war here. According to the wikipedia article I read on the series, it will feature many of the most well know battles; like Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Iwo Jima etc.

I'm trying to not get too keyed up, but looking at the trailers and knowing how good Band of Brothers was,...

I can't wait, either. I re-watched the D-Day/Brecourt Manor ep on BluRay in honor of Veterans Day and was astounded as to how well that series is standing the test of time.

To tide you over, you might want to rent Clint Eastwood's Iwo Jima dual films, Flags of Our Fathers, from the Marines' perspective, and Letters From Iwo Jima, from the Japanese perspective.

Flags was released first, but I accidentally watched Letters first and suspect that it might be more...

Thank goodness for Sucks, or I would miss out on many great shows because with a DVR I skip commercials and rarely see previews for anything.

Band of Brothers is one of my faves and this looks very promising. I'll definitely be tuning in.
