Mine doesn't go into sleep mode unless I put it there, but waking it back up is the problem (not all the time).

Usually something wonky between the charger and the battery. Couple different things to try... 1, unplug it and run the battery completely out. Then charge again, see if that helps. The temp is tested through either diagnostic software or at boot time by entering the setup of your PC's BIOS. Or you could put your tongue on the CPU... once.

( Do any other multimedia files skip? Did you check the fans and temp as was suggested? You may want to uninstall and reinstall your drivers - maybe even your audio drivers too )
