Even the "Hoarder Specialist" was surprised at how nonchalant Augustine was during the clean-up. She definitely suspected then that this wasn't an ordinary case of hoarding, if it was hoarding at all.

The old pictures made me think that she was a former hottie who never had to fend for herself. Her own kid said she acted entitled, so I bet that's her deal. And way to treat the people who will decide if you get sent to a home someday. good plan

I think she didn't smell them because they were rotting amidst 8,000 pounds of garbage. That's how much they shoveled out. Would any of us really be able to smell rotting carcass in an indoor landfill? I know I wouldn't.

She's more Yat than Hillbillly.

She must live near a Rally Burger, that's what most of that garbage was and also what she was eating in the shitty recliner. I hate to defend her but it is entirely possible she evacuated for Katrina and therefor didn't know the cats were in there still and died in Garbage Mountain. If she was gone for a few months then that could explain why she didn't notice the stench, it might have just dulled down to the level of the rest of the...

This is the first time I've seen this show sober. I am amazed at how much I wanted to clean my apartment afterward.

I did actually see this part...when they showed her in her easy chair, in the one room she could still live in? Beside her chair you can see one of those senior port-a-potty things. Blech.

I don't think she had water because on the site it says she goes somewhere once a week to take a shower, and because there is no fucking way a toilet should look like that if there is running water.

i still did not see a working water faucet anywhere. if she had some cold water access maybe she took a whore's bath. she had nowhere to poo and i thought is saw one of the workers pick up a jar with poop and pee in it.

i wish the show focused more on the true hoarders and not pig people. she had a mental disorder but hoarding had little to do with it.

Some things were just not making sense, she has no running water? It's not like she lives on an isolated farm, she is in a subdivison, wouldn't the town get involved? She hasn't taken a shower in 6 years? How do the cats get water? Does she sleep in that chair? I wish A&E went into more detail about why that place just wasn't bulldozed.

Some of the people they have shown freak over something like empty milk cartons being thrown away, Augustine didn't...

The second season premiere of Hoarders drew 3.2 million viewers, including 1.9 million adults 18-49 and 25-54. The demo ratings were the best season premiere numbers in network history. That is also up 52% in total viewers and 46% in the demo over the first season average

Premieres August 17th. I just saw a preview and WOW. They have some doozies lined up.
Overkill with Obsessions? Maybe, but hoarders are fascinating in what they choose to hoard and the reasons why the hoard.
