Here are all the times the numbers have won anything on Powerball, since 1/1/98. Note that 42 has come up as the Powerball quite often.

bump with a minor statistical update

The March 5th drawing yielded 3 white Numbers matches, a payout of $7. Just skimming the data without actually crunching it, it appears this has been the only drawing to yield a Numbers payout since I last computed the data last summer.

And that's about statistically average. The odds of winning a prize are 1:36.61 (2.73%).

There have been 244 Powerball drawings since the "Numbers" episode aired (not counting the drawing held the same day, 3/2/05).

A person playing the Numbers is assumed to pick 42 as the Powerball.

42 has been drawn as the Powerball 5 times out of 244 (2%).

Of those five, 3 had the 42 Powerball as the only Number picked. Getting just the Powerball right yields a prize of $3, giving the consistent Numbers player at total of $9.

Every time I buy multiple tickets, I always get a copy using the LOST numbers as well.

Once I saw 3 of the LOST numbers hit, but that was the closest I've ever seen it come to winning.

I have my own set of numbers I play on the main Lotto, each Wednesday and Saturday. Once, I got THREE of them, and got $3!! (Hey, it was a refund for the purchase of 3 tickets, is how I looked at it!)

But, as many Lotto players, these numbers are special to me. If I'm gonna win the Big One, these are the numbers I want to do it with! And, no, I don't think mine have Hurley's curse on them!
