This show ended before I was born but I <3 the DVDs. Richard Mulligan and Robert Mandan were gods.

All I remember was some episode with a Satan baby which I think is when the show jumped the shark.
And a pox on it for giving us Billy Crystal.

THEY SHOULD REMAKE THIS SHOW

if you could cast anyone for this new version, who would you get? and yes, even cast members from the old show (well, as long as their character's not dead, or would they be really dead?), that are still alive anyway, that would be way better than the reality shit all these networks feed on us like fruitcake at christmas

This was the first show i ever said, "NO WAY!" was that a 30 minute show.

I still crack up to this day when Burt would make himself go invisible.

I'm not exactly sure how I wound up watching Soap, but I did watch it religiously for a while when they used to play it all the time on Comedy Central. I'm pretty sure I wasn't in high school then and probably not even junior high so I don't know how or if I got all the jokes, but my interest in this crazy show is the only thing I can use to explain how Passions later found a soft spot in my heart.

oh, and the narrator/announcer, rod roddy.

without them, this show will live on...

i bet we could make a great show like soap nowadays, maybe a reality version?

I just started watching it this summer, and I'm in love. I've seen the first season and half of season two, and I can't wait to see it all! Susan Harris is a genius when it comes to the writing of this.

Burt doing his "Grandpa" thing was hilarious, as was his invisibility finger snaps.

Mulligan was a talented director and actor.

I was obsessed with Soap when I was younger. I think I was watching reruns because I'd sneak out of bed every night at 3am to watch it. And right after that, Here Come the Brides.

Chuck and Bob came to the fair when I was about 11 and I HAD to go see it. It was sad. It was the county fair, not even the state fair.

I was a little kid when Soap was airing. I would hide on the staircase, when I was supposed to be in bed, and peek at it while Mom was watching. Good times.

Can't believe there is a thread on this. This one really takes me back! Had a night class and we all used to fly out of there as fast as we could and pile into the closest dorm room to watch this every week. We eventually got our professor into the show and he would bring a tv into class so that we could hang out there and watch.

Truly revolutionary tv for its time and hysterical.

What a great show this was...and hella revolutionary for its time.

So many great characters...my personal favorites were Mr. Peppyflake and Rodney Raisin.
