OMG I love this show! It fills some of the gap in my soul that was created when Food Network stopped showing the original Iron Chef. I hate the warped wall SO MUCH.

Basketball players would be too big for the course. The later stages pretty much require a gymnast's build due to the insane amount of upper body strength required.

Also, if you really want a laugh, check out the Ninja Warrior fan videos with deluded teenagers application tapes on YouTube! It's like the sad kids who think they are superstars who go on AI, but we mix in a big dash of testosterone. Dumb jocks make themselves look stupid for the win!

I have seen clips of this on youtube, I think it's the coolest thing I've ever seen in sports since the Snowboarding Halfpipe in the Olympics.
It's better than strongman competitions because lifting beer kegs or poles is one thing, but mixing brute strength with gymnastics and feats of endurance is far more compelling to me. Also, how cool is it that they made a course that only 2 men out of 100 crazy athlete's in the whole world can even complete?

If they can get past the salmon ladder the rest of stage 2 isn't that bad! But for the amount of money they can win, I don't understand quitting your job for that. Maybe the winner gets lots of endorsements?

I don't think the salmon ladder is impossible. Both of them nearly made it...........I think if the allstars make it to stage 2, they'd clear it.

Damn, that last Ninja Warrior was impossible. The American boys didn't have a chance. I'm all for making the game more challenging but I think they might have went a little overboard with this one. I wonder what the rest of stage two looked like.

The "new" season is #19. I saw footage of a newer season on line a few months ago that looked even more brutal than this one. They have really made this one difficult; even Nagano could not finish it. Our cable schedule luckily lists the number of the season and the number of the episode in the season. One season went five or six episodes. I find it addicting. The announcer's translated comments are sometimes hysterical.

I'd like to see the earlier versions of the Women's stages.

I don't like this one much. There are a couple hard obstacles but the rest of it is near impossible to fuck up. (If you get to the ramp with around 45 seconds left, you've got it made.)

Does anyone else watch this show?

It's basically a show about a bunch of people trying to complete an extreme obstacle course. Think "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge"(MXC). It's pretty funny watching all these people fail.

It comes on Tuesdays 12am ET, 9pm pt on G4. Check it out.
