Of the post Guatemala seasons, Survivor China is the most similar to the early seasons....

Panama actually had one of the most fun casts in the shows history. It was the editing that sucked.

I'm lazy. I'm just pulling the seasons out of my tape bin in the order that I find them. I wish there was a better explanation than that. I have over 1200 videotapes. :-P

Although I'm not showing them any seasons after Guatemala. What do I look like, a sadist? As far as they know, there were only 11 seasons. So there.

We're watching the seasons in order. Well, kinda. We did 1-3, then we jumped ahead to Pearl Islands, Amazon, and Palau, and then we went back to Thailand. Thailand was the season they have liked the least so far, it was too slow and uneventful (at least until the finale). This is the first time they have ever watched any of the seasons. Before, they were too young.

Pearl Islands has been my kids' favorite season so far. That makes sense. It is my favorite too.

I just finished watching Thailand with my kids and I have to say, after all the crap I talked about it a couple of weeks ago, the Thailand finale is awesome. That is easily one of the best finale episodes they have ever produced. The music, the pacing, the flashbacks, the drama, it has everything. In my opinion, the finale almost single handedly vaults Thailand into the upper half of Survivor seasons. That is the way you are supposed to end a season.

Eh, I liked them. I started this thread because it was made to seem that Thailand being a bad season was practically a fact, when it is contentious. I don't just like Thailand in comparison to worse seasons, I actually really enjoy it on its own terms

Helen, however, was aways entertaining.

I do agree that the cast was had potential to be good but it just ended up being a disappointment, whether it be because of the Pagoning, bad gameplay, or just bad editing

I understand why people hate thailand from a strategic pov, since only Brian and to a slightly lesser extent Clay played with any foresight. However, I dont see why people think its so terrible. I thought the cast was really good. For those who hate mactors, theres quite a few older people who were memorable,like Clay,Helen,Jan,Big Ted and Jake. The younger ones were also for the most part entertaining, or at least had an understandable arc. The challenges are imo,among the most creative ever...
