i do not want it! Hey...I got a HD t.v....and a microwave....and two DVD players....AND THAT'S ALL I NEED. And my Nintendo 64....and two turntables and microphone. |

I don't get it. If it runs through the phone line, why is it so much faster than dial-up?Traditional dial-up uses the same band of frequencies that are used for voice communications 3.4 KHz, which provides a maximum data transfer speed of 56Kbps. DSL operates outside the voice bandwidth range and actually uses several different frequency ranges or channels, this is both why DSL is faster than dial-up and why it doesn't interfere with voice communications (actually if you don't have filters on your telephones you can often here some high frequency noise as well as harmonics). |
