I agree with you completely about giving out the extra money, but I disagree about Denise wouldn't have wanted to be a "charity case", she played the pity card and got what she wanted. I didn't care about her one way or another at the beginning of the season, she was just boring and obviously wasn't going to be any kind of player, but I really started to dislike her in the last couple of eps -- first it was because she was just dumber than dumb, and then tonight I wanted to smack her....trying to make a deal with Amanda during the last challenge when it was obvious she was about to lose it while Amanda wasn't, then that that self-pity party when she pleated with Amanda not to vote her out at TC was beyond pathetic. That, plus the whole sob story about losing her minimum wage job at the reunion tells me this woman has not an ounce of self-respect nor pride. I just don't have any sympathy for anyone like her.

I agree 100%. Denise made it clear that her schtick is being the outcast/charity case, and it's been that way her entire life. She was rewarded for being the most pathetic person on the show, and that's what she was hoping for all along. I'm glad James won the 100 grand. At least he got the money for being funny and entertaining. Watching Denise was a wrist slasher.

Up until the last few episodes I did feel bad for Denise 'cause she's such a schlub. But then she got so whiny and pathetic it was just gross. They never should've cast her in the first place. She was worthless.

I found it very interesting that you used that specific terminology. When Courtney "tells it like it is", many people here claim it made this one of the best seasons ever. However, when Denise "tells it like it is", people here claim she is "playing the sympathy card". Thanks for needing only one sentence to put the two faced hypocrites on this board in their place, pumpkin37. Even JR was smart enough to know when to shut up, but, unfortunately, I doubt any of the anti-Denise people will.

i am not a courtney fan, but she never claimed that she was owed anything out there. denise played a really bad game, didn't take someone who took her on a reward along when she won one, had a chance to at least get to the final 3 by forcing a tie but didn't, and then is upset she is going out 4th, because she said she had nothing else. i feel bad for denise's situation, but i do think a lot of the reason people don't feel sorry for her, is because she had a chance to sit in front of the jury and she screwed it up big time. so i think that comes into play with, why should she had the money when she had the chance to ensure she woudl be in the final 3 at least?

I think she lost a lot of sympathy when she wouldn't eat the balut the second time. Then she just got more and more pathetic. Who wants to root for somebody that isn't even trying? If there was no 4th prize money I could see giving her the sympathy cash. At least she has a job, a husband and a place to live, unlike a lot of other moms out there.
