i wanted to add, i would be happy for denise if she is able to take her survivor experience and change her life with it. however, i do think it is unfair that
she should get extra money for her circumstances, when a lot of other previous survivors probably all haven't been rich. pointing out that she messed up
her game badly, doesn't mean i wish bad things for denise.

Twila was fat and ugly too and she worked THREE lowly jobs, yet she only got her 2nd place money
far superior player too. TEARS! After Denise's sob story, sickening OTTP edit, and fairy tale happy ending, I really want some blue collar assholes on the show again. We need more Susan types to make America hate the inferior class again. |

She could become a Greta Van Sustren sound-a-like and make some good money.

I gotta agree that Denise played up the "I was never picked" thing. I was never picked for teams growing up and I was a Courtney type stick, Denise
body types were picked over me so that excuse by her didn't fly with me. I seriously got sick and fuckin' tired ever time she said that.
As somebody else pointed out Bruce and Cindy lost their jobs playing Survivor, that's the chance you take playing it. Denise had every opportunity to shake things up but she was too scared to do it. I don't see why she should be rewarded for that. |

2nd place gets $100k. I think 4th and 3rd get $60k and $85k respectively, at least they do if they did it like they used to
so... 1. Todd - $1,000,000 2. James - $100,000 + whatever stipend 7th gets 3. Denise - $110,000 4. Courtney - $100,000 5. Amanda - $85,000 |

sunflower100 wrote: Had Denise walked around saying (as others have over the years) "I don't want to be here", you probably would have raked her over the coals for NOT wanting anything from the game and taking someone else's spot. Instead, Denise actually wanted something from Survivor, thought that she actually didn't get enough from it in the form of reward or placement, and you STILL ream her ass simply for answering one of Probst's questions in the reunion and its ultimate result. The only unfair thing, sunflower, is that you would have bitched about Denise no matter what she said or did. In comparison to the 16 cars that were given to the S4 cast for simply showing up, the money given to Denise was peanuts. I'll admit that EPMB has done
some mighty shitty things over the years, BUT THIS WASN'T ONE OF THEM. You want me to shame EPMB for doing something nice for somebody and their family so
close to Christmas. HELL NO!!! I refuse to be that bad of a person, but you can do it if you choose so. Since when did Christmas change from "Peace on
Earth Goodwill to Men" to "Kick People When They're Down and Piss All Over Someone Who Tries to Help Them Back Up"? Happy Holidays
INDEED!!!!! |

I like that it's tiered, unlike BB in which some players just hope to make sequester so they can get the stipend to pay off credit card debt for doing
nothing (ie JBLO)
They all also get $10,000 for the reunion appearance. |

I think begging Amanda for a deal was just lame, all the way around.

The worst part about this is that Amanda, the chick who many thought would WIN on the first half of the show last night, was ignored at the reunion show.
She and her glorious blurred ass where the reason that men like myself tuned in each week.
Random thoughts on Denise: - yeah, yeah, yeah - everyone loves a good charity case. - we've all heard the 'but it was filmed during summer and she wasnt working anyway' - even if she was, what fucking job ANYWHERE can you take off 45 days or so - if you think about 39 days there, the travel, the prep meetings, the finale, etc - that would mean at LEAST 45 days off. Do any of you have jobs that would just let you leave for 45 days? I don't. So they come back from a FUCKING REALITY SHOW and they dont have a job. Tough shit. The jury wanted 'risk' - there's your 'risk' - you go on the show and you risk not having a job. - She had a 1 in 5 chance a $1M. How many other sob story people will ever come close to having that sort of chance in life. - The fact that her children are morbidly obese disgusts me. 'Honey, We're Killing The Kids'. Sorry, she doesnt get shit just for that. - She got the opportunity to plead her case for 4 months on national tv to an audience of millions. Someone in her community will reach out to her and give her a gig paying more. That WILL happen. 99.9% of other poor people don't get that luxury. - She got to experience Survivor, the Great Wall, 1500 year old temples, etc. In addition, she got to see the inner workings of television shows, hobnob with celebrities (Probst, etc) - pretty cool experiences eh? She got to experience the pinnacle of martial arts performance (her passion). What other poor people get to do that? - Her husband (and probably her kids) got to go on a mac daddy trip to visit her. Shanghai is a LONG ass flight. Probably flew first class. Stayed in nice hotels. Great meals. Probably got to see amazing things. 95% of Americans will never experience that. - What about her husband. How much is that a kick to the nuts when you are basically being told you are a dogshit provider - that you're wife has to scrub toilets to bring home horribly unhealthy food to keep your obese children obese. What's his deal? So, yeah, she went back to her shitty life, but I really don't feel all that bad for her. There are rich people, there are (mostly) middle of the road people, and there are poor people. That's life. And besides, we have no idea why she's in the lot in life that she's in. I some extended family members in similar situations and it's because they are simply lazy. Not saying she is, but not saying she isn't. I need to know more background before I can muster sympathy. |
