Definitely more challenging than the show considering you have 50 different categories to deal with, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Only
took 10 minutes, if that. There were probably 30 or so that I knew for sure and a few more where I had a pretty good idea. Of course there were maybe ten that
I had absolutely no idea on. I doubt I qualified but at least I can say I did it.

The frustrating thing is even if you pass the test, only X number of people get an audition...and then you're in the contestant pool, but you don't know if you'll ever get on. And then you sit out a year of eligibility. I passed two years ago, got the audition in Philly, they liked me, so they said, but no call. The guy next to me was on his 5th try. I thought my test was fair tonight...not easy, but I knew more than I didn't. We'll see. GL to Central and Pacific people! |

I'm taking it on Thursday.
The trick of the test is getting lucky enough to get categories that you know about. First time I applied, I did in studio for the college tournament and made it through to the interview/mock game. Another guy from my school also made it, but that year it was being hosted at USC, so of course they gave the spots to USC and UCLA. Second time I tried out was the first online test...and got hosed by the questions. Hopefully third time's the charm :D |

How do they score the online test? Is it a speed/correct answers thing, or just answers?

way back when, you had 25 seconds (i think) after each question. No idea how it has changed since I was on. Yes, you're lucky if you get "good"
categories for you, but it is also important to have a wide range of knowledge, which is what the test is for.
If you make it to the audition stage, be sure to dress nicely, be energetic, and follow directions. :) |

I'm in the contestant pool as well.....I did really well during the audition (Not to pat myself on the back) but I got to play the game twice, and smoked
my opponents both times.....Am taking the test again tomorrow, just in case.....

I just did the test for the first time, and didn't do nearly as well as I thought I would. I left a lot of them blank because I couldn't even come up
with a guess that would sound the least bit educated. I do a lot better playing along with the show. Oh well!

I just took it for the first time too. I feel so stupid! I couldn't think of the capital of Oregon. I'm a teacher....states and capitals is part of
my curriculum!!!
