I wish they still had the 2 week update though. I really want to know if they took all those rings down. I can't imagine filling in all those nail holes...it would easier to replace the drywall

Paige definitely makes the show good again. It was a snoozefest without her.

Love Paige but hate the new hair. She looked cute on Ellen.

Wasn't Hilde the stupid bitch of a designer who tried to glue objects to a table that was hanging from the ceiling (the room theme was an upside-down room)
and one of them fell and almost hit the homeowners during the reveal?

Darn, I missed it. I'll have to check the listings and catch a repeat this week. Glad to hear Doug and Hildi are back and still wreaking havoc on innocent
homeowners!

The bad thing about the cardboard room that Hildi did was that she attached the cardboard to the walls with a ton of liquid nails. There was no way to easily
remove it. Pulling nails out would be a picnic compared to that. The same with the hay and flowers. The things she does cause real damage.
The black and white rooms that Hildi and Doug completed was funny. Only because the guy who owned the place was so pompous about his place and easily could afford a designer. He just wanted the Trading Spaces experience, and boy did he get it. What makes Hildi a bad designer, is that she doesn't give a hoot about the people that are using the room. A good designer would always keep the customer in mind. Frank and some of the other designers do that. They try to give the people what they want. Even Doug did it, when he tried to make the room like the man wanted, a steakhouse. The ex-husband did not seem gay to me. Just lazy. Too lazy to do anything more then throw a bed in his room. Too lazy to exercise. Too lazy to notice that his wife was unhappy and wanted out. I am glad Paige is back - if means we no longer have to have the campy contractors talking to us with their speech impediments. I want to watch these men in action not listen to the them talk. Loved the scene with the contractor and the hose while Doug laughed in the background. I can't believe they kept that Hispanic designger with the too big boobs. I hope they had least make her wear shirts that she won't pop out of. I agree with the previous comment about watching the show just too see if she would fall out of her top. |

Another one Hildi did that caused a ruckus was the kitchen of a fundamentalist christian couple. They are strict tee-totalers & don't even allow
alcohol in their home. Hildi papered their entire kitchen with stick on wine labels. I never laughed so hard at the couple's horror. They tried to be
polite but you could tell they were mortified.
Good times.... |

I liked the natural interaction between Paige and Doug and so forth, but she was a little odd. It's like she was talking in an unnaturally high and perky
voice the whole episode.
And I hated the hair. But her ass & legs looked great as usual. |

I would take her, or doug, or the red head. I would most want to work with Frank though seems like he would be fun to work with

I wouldn't want Frank doing my room either. He's all about "country" & that's way 90's. I certainly don't want chickens
painted on my walls. I hated most of Gen's rooms too though. That Cuban room was cheap looking. She used cigar boxes & that horrible paint
roller/comb thing that makes fake wood grains. I don't like a lot of Laurie's rooms because she always uses "fall" colors. But I do like
how they at least look tasteful.
Edward has to be my fav. Love his black accents & black cord trim around the ceiling. eta: Another pet peeve of mine is when they go to someplace like Phoenix they think they have to do a Southwest themed room or when they go to Dallas they think they have to do a Western theme. That sucks. Just because you live in Oklahoma doesn't mean you want saddles & rope in your bedroom.

I think the best episode I ever saw was when they played a joke on Hilde and Doug. They had actors in place of real clients and then they proceeded to throw
everything. Not literally but one couple had a HUGE fight and one of them walked out; the couple working with Doug destroyed his huge art work poster picture
thing he had done. The couple working with Hilde repainted the room overnight so that none of her colour schemes worked. Doug's people presented him with
a stuffed pug named Priscilla telling him it was the other people's prized dog that had died and absolutely had to
be in the room. There were other things like the one lady coming on to Doug and such - they cut up one lady's wedding dress claiming she hated it but when
she saw it in the room she freaked out. And they did a Chinese saying in the room that instead of saying welcome to all (or something like that) meant
something horribly derogatory to the house guests. Oh yeah- and Doug had a stalker - that was priceless! She brought him a cake to the set and then wiped
Hilde out of the picture on top of it! He was getting really freaked out when she kept showing up. I cried I was laughing so hard. They totally sucked Doug
and Hilde in and watching them react was the best home improvement TV I've ever seen. Beautiful.

Frank once did a beach themed family room that was adorable! Although his designs aren't my style, he does seem to try and give the homeowners what they
want.
I often thought they kept Doug and Hildi around simply for the drama factor. Rarely did I see them go out of their way for the homeowners...as a matter of fact it seemed they went above and beyond to piss people off. For instance, Doug did a blue room once after the homeowners specifically said they did not want blue in the room. And speaking of that, the infamous Brown room that Laurie did; where the woman told any- and everyone who would listen that she HATED brown and Laurie painted everything brown, anyway! The homeowner cried and actually threw a couple of punches at her friends before running out of the room. It was hilarious TV, but I couldn't imagine being in her shoes. I'd probably end up catchin' a case, LOL. Vern Yip was always my fav designer! Especially bedroom makeovers...I would love for him to redecorate my bedroom! Side note: I think that I saw that he has a new show coming out soon, Deserving Design, or something like that... |

I usually like Dougs room except for something like the Prison toilet room he did. I remember once he did a train car bedroom for a couple. The husband was
into trains and said he would love something like that and Doug did a great job and it looked like the interior of a train car. The husband loved it, the wofe
didn't like it. I remember Doug getting blasted on message boards for that room, but it was what the husband wantd and it looked great.
I remember Frank did a Mexican kitchen for a couple, my favorite room ever from this show. I do remember Hildi doing a very nice room, I think from the first season. it was a dining room with dark purple walls with alternating large stripes of glossy & flat deep dark purple. Beyond that one room, I ahve never been a fan of hers |

I have been watching this show for years. I have always loved to see the reactions they are priceless. I would hate to have a few of them in my room but
think that even with their off the wall things I could perhaps learn to live with it in most cases.
There is one that frankly I think has No design taste at all. That is Kia. She would be the only one that I would walk off and never allow her near my home. Her design style is something that resembles a crazy woman in a Goodwill dumpster collecting junk they can not sell and given some craft junk and told to make a room. Most do not come out well. Did you see the one she made the persons bed into a grave. Grass flowers everything except the headstone in all honesty the owner laughed about it but frankly that was just ugly and looks like she has no skills.I would HATE for her to do my room. Vern is amazing. I love his taste. I like Frank though his taste is not always mine but he is so sweet and seems the most caring of the bunch. The rest are all about TV and ratings and show value. He and Vern in my opinion are the two who honestly take into consideration what folks want or may or may not like. That show where the home owner hated feet and Hilde kept wiping her feet on her I would have snatched her foot and bent it to shove up her rear. How rude and just ignorant. You know that woman dislikes feet on her including her own husbands and you some stranger who has tramped around town with no shoes now comes in and rubs them on her. All I can say is that could not have been me. The picture of the foot in her room Not a big deal he felt it was a joke again I thought rude but I would just paint over it. I see that the new season has Goil on it. Is that not the same designer who was on the HGTV next design start show a season or so ago or one of those make me famous have 15 minutes of fame shows. he actually was very good how he ended up cut and not winning I forget but I liked his work. I hope it gets back some of the pizazz it once had now that Paige is back. |

I saw a commercial for the new trading spaces last night. Did I see Goil (from Top Design) as one of the designers? I could have sworn it was his annoying
voice on the commercial.
