Amanda is contributing more to the season than Ami is, in my opinion. If I was going to complain about someone who needlessly took up a slot I would pick Ami.
At least Amanda has the showmance/power couple thing going for her.

From overall performance on their respective seasons, Ami is way more deserving. And exactly, all Amanda has going for her is her showmance. Despite not being
shown Ami's game, she's probably got some alliances going around with quite a few people. Hence her being mysteriously included in the power
couples' "trust circle" a few episodes back.

I think it was pure aesthetics. Cirie/Ami/Eliza aren't pin-up material, and P.G. isn't bad looking, but isn't "Stuff" material.
Hence, Parvati/Amanda over her. There's not really another good reason for it. P.G./James getting stuck together again would have been hilarity. |

I think Ami and Eliza are much harder picks to justify. Yes, Parvati and Amanda's looks play a part (especially for Parvati, as Jeff actually said aloud
that they needed a hot girl), but Vanuatu was also a long time ago and wasn't really recognized as an amazing season to begin with. If they had Candice or
Courtney to choose from I think Eliza or Ami would have been replaced before Amanda and Parvati.
I would've loved to see Peih Gee though. |

Eliza was never really in doubt. Jeff even says exactly that in the Micronesia pre-game stuff. She's an interesting player to watch.

i think it depends who you ask, in my office there are many casual viewers, and all of them remembered Ami, but hardly any remembered Eliza and Parvarti.

People remember Ami if only for being the man-hating dyke on the season (not that it was true, but it was how it did come across). At least it did make her
pretty memorial. Eliza as much as we love her at Sucks might only be remembered as the bug-eyed girl.

You're kidding. Poverty is the fugly one...
I loved Ami for both her game and her hawtness. Eliza was entertaining and she is prettier than poverty for sure! Amanda is meh compared to Courtney but at least her eye-candy factor is not-contestable. |

Ami is clearly one of the most attractive woman out there. Amanda's not too shabby either. Mary Faketits was fine as well, if you like that sort of
thing.
But Ami's spot on any all-stars type of Survivor is practically mandatory. There had never been an alpha female on the show before, and maybe even since. She was unique. Challenge threat and a leader. Her edit this season is barely more than Natalie's, but I have to assume that's more a function of them having 20 players and too much story to tell ( and shitty editing choices). Plus her game doesn't really factor into the season arc, spoilers suggest. |
