Seriously. I'm totally confused tonight. Randy said something about "not a note out of tune" as I was thinking that with all the shrieking she
had going on there were more notes out of tune in her single performance than there were during the duration of the night's show.
??? Maybe there's an extreme build up of wax in my ears that I don't know about. And you know I'm a fan of hers. I just didn't get the over-pimpage. Tonight, David Cook was my fav...by far. |

Hmmm........yeah, sometimes I think it might be one of those performances that are great live but doesn't translate to t.v. as much. I didn't watch it
so I don't know. I think the Kelly comment was ironic since Kelly used one of her own songs.

Anyway, I really like Carly. I don't see her winning (which means she probably won't have a career post-show) but she's one of the best. |

While her performance was good, all she did was mimic Joe Cocker's version from the movie Across the Universe.She said she's been singing it every Saturday night in the bar for a while now so I don't know if that's accurate. Carly <3 I never buy it when Simon pretends he forgot a contestant's name. I didn't even buy it when he said he forgot Haley Scarnato's name and she wasn't even a pimped one. He tries so hard to act like he doesn't care or isn't invested in the show and is just there to judge. |

Yeah...seems like the same arrangement. I don't see a problem with that though.
Last night was probably my favorite performance from her yet. I'm still kind of chilly towards her, but I'm beginning to warm up if she continues to bring the goods while the judges keep the praise to a minimum. Not sure I'd agree with the Kelly Clarkson comparison though. Kelly came out of no where and delivered knock out performances week after week. Carly has been pimped since season five. Not too similar in that respect. I also think Kelly's vocals were stronger during her days on Idol than Carly's are now. |

I'll listen to it in a bit.
I guess though to be sure you'd really have to find out how long she's been performing it every Saturday night at the bar. It's quite possible she started doing it after the movie with that arrangement came out, you never know right. |

She did good last night, but she should have loosened up more. She was pronouncing the words too precisely and clearly. She needed to normalize it a
little more...like the Beatles did. She took the song in a more blues-like direction, but went the opposite way on the way she sang the words...I found that
odd. I liked how she got the only song from the best Beatles Album...Abbey Road. That shows taste IMO.

The early results shows are slightly boring if you like people who are front-runners because they aren't in danger of going home and you just kind of watch
to see what train wreck gets the boot.
