Not sure if you Yanks get them but Shreddies (do you even have them?) have a hilarious campaign now featuring brand new "Diamond Shreddies". It's a brilliant skewering of re-purposing in media all while still actually advertising the product. Those who don't know, these are Shreddies:

Yes, it's the exact same thing only turned slightly :) but its not really. one is a square shreddie. and if you look at them, the other is a "diamond" shreddie. can't you see that? and i'm sure the diamond shreddie is superior to the square shreddie. how could it not be. these people are on to something... |

My fave commercial right now is the one for the DirecTV hockey package, where the adoring parents are outside the baby nursery at the hospital, and the calm dad on the left suddenly starts pounding on the nursery glass yelling "Yeah! That's my baby! Best baby in the nursery" and pointing to all the other babies shouting "Loser! Loser! Loser!" then the voiceover says "Hockey fans aren't like any others." Has anyone else seen it, or is a regional one? My father-in-law saw it when he was here visiting last week and had never seen it, but laughed as hard as we did. I love that commercial. Makes me chuckle every time. While I don't like the Sprite (7Up? One of those) commercial with the tore up garden and the hole in the fridge, I do love the burping bunny at the end of it. |

Extreme hate for the cake-stomping kid.Yes! I don't understand it, and therefore it fills me with rage. These new JC Penney ads are a total ripoff of Ralph Lauren. The music, the slow motion, the outdoors are all meant to evoke a carefree lifestyle. Except what idiot family is so carefree that they enjoy a child stomping her big rubber boot in a cake? I also have extreme hate for the Domino's Brooklyn style pizza with the blonde Jew-fro kid pointing and shouting "Dat's what I'm talkin' about!" He needs a punch right in the nose. |

I'm really annoyed at the latest round of McDonald's commercials, in which various food items vote on which other food items to include on the dollar
menu.
First -- FOOD DOESN'T TALK. Second -- even if we assume that food DOES talk, why would it want to put the dollar menu? That means it'll be eaten -- surely not a pleasant prospect. Third -- this is just STUPID.

I actually liked Truth's "The Magical Amount" ad - it was a nice change of pace from their usual "here's a pile of bodybags"
tactics - but this new "It must have been a typo" ad is just bordering on really stupid.

Here's a new diet trick I learned from a Dannon Yogurt commercial tonight. Check out this screencap from the ad.
So if you only eat the top 3/4 of the Dannon Yogurt cup, you get your Calcium, your Vitamin D and your Vitamin B2, leaving the 60 Calories sitting there at the bottom of the cup to be tossed away in the trash. Pretty cool, yes? |

I just saw this commercial last night but it's already getting on my nerves. This lady is sitting at her desk and her heart jumps out of her chest, walks
to her boss' desk and holds up a sign that says "I quit." It then goes on to say follow your heart. I think it's a Monster.com commercial or
one of those job finder websites. Ugh.

There is a car commercial right now where somebody thought it would be a good idea to have car alarms go off throughout it. Memo to the ad exec asshole who
thinks people want to fucking hear blaring screechy sounds - WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT SHIT. No, it's not funny or witty to have a buyer
"scare" away another buyer by setting them off. They are car alarms!!! They're unpleasnat to hear. ASSHOLES!

That monster.com commercial grosses me out. I cant stand that Reddi Whip commercial. I have an irrational hatred of that girl with the Princess Lei buns. Even
the way she smiles pisses me off.
When she makes that sound like she is spraying the whip cream. I want to rip off those Princess Lei buns and shove them down her throat!

Okay.. there's a commercial out there for a power Mac laptiop (I think..) and it has this wimpy voiced lady with a horrendously thick accent singing a dumb
song. I can't understand half the words she's singing, but I think she says "I'm a muse so I came to this world to try and figure out a little
about give and take."
A) Her voice sets my teeth on edge. B) WTF does the song have to do with a laptop? C) Can they stop playing the damn thing every 15 minutes. |
