Irrational older Claymate screams at Spamalot stagedoor | ||

An older Claymate screams in shock at the news that Clay won't be coming out of the theater. Enjoy!

That sounds like an older voice. THe bloggers are young and awestruck theater hopefuls. Actually, the person in the crowd who yells angrily at the end of the video is not the blogger but a woman who is not on camera. I was standing about 5 ft away from her at the time. It was after the Saturday matinee when security constructed an approximate 6' by 15' area for fans with tickets (you can see it on the left of the stage door), packed them in like sardines, and then after waiting 10-15 minutes told them that Clay was not coming out. The woman you hear on the video was not in the area with the ticket holders. Makes me so sad for Clay. However, this Spamalot experience was a stroke ofgenius on his part. That last weekend is going to be so emotional for many of us. We have built up a lot of memories over this brief Broadway run. |

An older Claymate screams in shock at the news that Clay won't be coming out of the theater. Sounds like a heckler to me. Every once in awhile some local NYC twat shows up at the stage door and puts on a show. Was that you? Are you looking for attention? Is the Hater blog getting too boring for you?

Clay's first single "On My Way Here" written by Ryan Tedder is beautiful. Here's the first listen.

Clay wouldn't get airplay not matter what and I believe he knows that. I don't think that is what he was shooting for. Have you heard the crap on the
radio besides a select few songs? They are crap. Miley Cyrus, for Christ's sake, is in the top 10 on Top 40. Chris Brown has 2 different songs in the
Top 10 and he can't even sell the CD. Clay's been beat on pretty good the last few years. I think that's what the song means to him, I think that
is what the CD means to him. Lover All Alone wouldn't get airplay either. Unless he decides to scream, cuss or have his voice protooled, airplay probably
isn't in the cards. I love the song and the message. But I'm a low maintenance fan. He doesn't have to be on the radio for me. :)

^^^ yeah I know Who...I'm just hoping he gets SOME airplay...otherwise he won't sell that well......
I actually think Lover All Alone could be a massive hit...that song is amazing. |

Clay wanted Ashes but for some reason they (I'm thinking Clive the dreadlord) changed it and picked this song. The song sounds like it was produced for a movie or tv theme. As well as Lover All Alone, there are some really decent songs Ashes, the song Kipper wrote. There are also two songs that kind of have a Keith Urban vibe to them. Depending on how they were produced ,they could be country crossovers. |

I assume if Clivelord wanted this song as the lead single, then the single will do just fine. Isn't that how it works? Clivey don't like something,
that something is punished and gets it's hands slapped and has to record a covers CD (Clay) or gets publicly blasted with no label support (Kelly) OR gets
dropped all together (Taylor). Weird how that works huh? I absolutely HATE All American Girl on Carrie's CD and skip it to this day, yet it was the 2nd
single, so what do I know?

I agree with ILGE. Perfect AI crowning crap. He sings it nice, but it is over-blown sounding. I hope there are better songs on the alum.

I think he sounds too "Broadway" on that track, which is his tendency. I'm thinking his producer should step in & tell Clay stuff like that
so he re-record it as many times as need be. But then again I don't know where his niche is exactly. Perhaps it was intentional.

unfortunately, I think Clay is a lot like Carrie insomuch as neither seems to show much interest in delivering a simple heartfelt song without the vocal
bombast and glory notes.... Clay manages to do it on Lover All Alone, which is what makes that song so magnificent IMO...it's understated and
heartfelt....you can hear the ache in his voice because he's not assualting the eardrums with the glory noting oversinging he's so prone to.

I guess I don't get what the "broadway" sound means. 99.9% of the performers on broadway could outsing any of the dreck I hear on the radio
today. I guess it sounds "broadway" because you can understand the lyrics? This is 1 track on a CD with probably 12-13 tracks on it. Probably not
the best lead off single (but I like it), but since Tedder wrote it, I suppose it had to be the first single. Who knows. Lover All Alone is on the CD and
why it's not a single? I don't know, but at least his fans aren't getting covers again.
ILGE~ did I miss a verse in the song because I'm not hearing any glorynoting or bombastic singing in the single. *shrugs*

He needs to get a kicking band to put some life into that song. I feel bad for Clay, he picked the worst time to release his cd, when ALL of Clive's $$$$attention$$$$ is on Leona and Leona only. |

Ummmmmm . . . thanks for the update on Chris Brown?? Still not great numbers for as much as he is pimped IMO.
Doesn't really matter about RCA and Leona, because they've really never supported Clay anyway so nothing is different this time around. Shocking! |

I happen to like Clay's voice but do think he tends to oversing as a matter of style and I wish he'd dial that back a bit and show he can do a more subtle song. Those who CAN sing DO. Those who CAN'T sing scream. See Carrie U vs Yelly. Now piss off . |

It's a really good song and he sings it really really great! My apologies for not hearing the song for what it is...I do still think it would make a great AI coronation song.... |
