I think the problem is that too many artists don't think long term.. they want to fast rise to the top and the quick buck so they only care about getting that hot single which will thrust them quickly to the top of the charts... they put 9 songs of filler and maybe 3 songs that could be radio hits on their CDs and the consumer now has the option of just buying the individual songs rather than forking over $15 for an entire CD that only has those 3 good songs on it... Many small-time artists have done it. Also, Carrie isn't exactly the spitting image of success. Her album is struggling in sales and really just isn't moving. Add in the fact that her voice is grating after a few listens and something tells me her next album will be as bad of a flop as My Disaster.

Not to me as just like SH I like this album the more I listen to it. Granted all albums have songs that you might skip but I rarely skip a song on either album. But that's just me. Most artists would love to have the sales of this album too and there is probably still a year of songs that will be released as singles so it's not like it's 'done' selling. Yet there is no way it gets close to SH in total sales. It went where no one expected it to.
