It seems people have now turned their hate to the race seasons especially Fiji which got taken down several pegs, despite being a lot more popular after its initial airing. Around the time of the controversial debates and Probst's public criticism of the season, then it became alright to bash it and its stock plummeted dramatically here

The fact that I couldn't stand Stephenie in Palau, and that I knew (and didn't like) Rafe in real life certainly didn't help. I have always sort of had a personal grudge against Guatemala. Bobby Jon and Judd almost saved it for me though.

They didn't really figure out what they were doing, production-wise, until about the fourth episode. And how do you explain why you found a season boring? With Exile Island I just did. I have seen it three times and I couldn't even tell you what happened in most of the episodes. I barely even remember the winner. In fact when you referred to it as "S12", I actually had to stop and think about which season that was. There's a reason the Funny 115 ends with Guatemala. It's because Guatemala and (in particular) Exile Island were when I sort of lost interest in the show for a while. The addition of a final three in Cook Islands didn't help either. I have never been a fan of the final three. Part of the reason I ranked Micronesia so high on my list is because we actually went back to a F2, and I was ecstatic.

I thought Panama had one of the best casts ever and the only fault I have with that season is the editing. If they had focused more on Casayas crazy antics premerge/antagonism with Terry at the merge as opposed to it being a standard issue "underdog story" with Terry,then it would be seen as one of the best seasons. I respectfully disagree with you about Borneo. Al the psiodes are great.The only problem I have with Borneo(which is miniscule) is that they reused footage.They showed the same scene of Rudy throwing a knife in two subsequent episodes-why?
