Ironically with your picture, I have explored Mensa for the hell of it since I have so much time on my hands. The initial scores have been great from their practice tests I have taken. Have not looked into the official test much yet but may go ahead and try for it with all the time I have on my hands being a gimp. Are you all members and know how that test works? (the way you all bash on everyone else, I hope most of you already are in that organization) I believe that they tour the country and you have to coordinate taking the test when they are in your town but not certain. It is only supposedly for the top 2% IQ of the population so my chances, realistically, are not that great but how much great "survivor sucks" material will you all have to work with if I do become a member. lol

hope everyone's week is grand. I myself am just spending time watching the nba playoffs and not doing a whole let else.

Well thank you there. While the statements I have made are true, I am not trying to prove anything as much as just messing around with with you all to see more of these laughing faces that you all like to put at the end of sarcastic statements. lol

Since I have been talking about perceptions, I will stick to that. I will be the first one to tell you that I think perceptions that fans have on these reality shows are all good and makes them interesting but they may have been conceived without hearing the whole story. Even though I know first hand with experience, even I get caught up in what is presented to me on TV . A recent example, and not sure if you watch the Tequila show, was yesterday and seeing that guy Chad at a table near mine at a sports bar while watching the NBA playoffs. Because of what I saw on the show, I was thinking that that guy pretty much sucks. My point is, while my perception may very well be right on, it could also not. That was stupid of me to think that and he could very well be a good guy. Editing is not solely responsible for how one is presented but it can definitely have influence.

Let me share a good example about editing that you all might be interested to hear.

I might be a bit off with a small detail or two but the scenario was a discussion between Jonathan and myself at camp during one of the earlier episodes regarding the shelter. I believe Parvati and Candice were present as well. He was trying to say that we should raise the floor of the shelter to get out of the mud and I was disagreeing because it did not make sense and the girls were staying quiet on the subject.

Here is the story shown to the audience:

The shelter was in the mud and Jonathan wanted to raise it to get out of the mud while sleeping to make it more comfortable for all. I wanted to keep it the way it was and sleep in the mud because raising the floor would not help in the situation. The girls were quiet because they knew Jonathan was right and did not want to get involved with the conversation because they were close with me and would agree and stick up for me in any arguement unless I was way off and then they would just keep quiet, like they did. The end result was that the decision, and changes to the shelter, were not shown so it was assumed that the lifting of the floor took place because I was being a dumbass and since the girls did not speak up, they agreed.

What actually happened:

It is true that the floor was on the ground but the floor consisted of bamboo leaves and what not placed on top of bamboo poles. These poles were about 4-6"wide so the floor was a bit more then that above the ground. During this discussion with Jonathan, he was suggesting we take the time to take this same floor and make support beams, that would take a ridiculous amount of time, to raise it up another foot or so to put it at about a foot and a half. Remember now, the only problem with the ground was mud (no rats and what not) and the discussion was to raise the current floor so comfort was not relevant. When it would rain hard, the current distance off the ground was plenty high so any higher would make no difference. The girls did not speak up during my discussion with Jonathan because they wanted our tribe to stay cool with each other and not disagree. They said that they agreed with me after Jonathan walked off and there was never a raise to the floor on TV because......it did not happen (don't you think they would of shown it if the rise of the floor did happen? cutting to clips of me looking pissed, probably from some other point in time that they find footage to use to intertwine in the scene. lol). In fact, we actually ended up taking out the bamboo and sleeping on the leaves for most of the season, less then an inch off of the ground. I am not criticizing Jonathan here at all because I believe my side was more about need and not caring about making things look good. I think one great quality of Jonathan is that he works hard and wants to make any project he has the best it can be, including how good it looks. Not trying to speak for him and I don't know for a fact if that is true, just my opinion I had during my time on the island. I admire that quality he has but I just believed that it was unnecessary since it would not effect how comfortable the floor was and I don't think anything matters regarding the floor except how well you sleep on it. On a side not, I also think his mentality relates to the whole Raro being lazy perception. I believe that Jonathan, and Ozzy as well, enjoyed going out for food and would not spend less time doing it, even if the rest of us spent much more time on the hunt for fish and what not (once again, not speaking for them and anyone else, just giving my opinion from what I saw on the island). I believe those two seperated themselves as far as providing for the tribes but everyone else was fairly even regarding this. I don't think anyone of us out there was lazy but if you want to call everyone but those two lazy then that is fine but to just say raro was is unjustified...Back to the shelter, an anology I can think of is the difference between having a box spring and mattress on a floor and having those two with the bed frame that lifts the two higher above the floor. It may look better but not relevant in a situation like survivor...

Bored and was not going to write again but thought I would share this situation to show an example of how editing can manipulate certain situations. I also think that out of all the things I go off on tangents about on this site, this is the type of thing I believe you all might actually be interested to hear.

As far as the foot, it is apparently a rare injury and hard to fix so that is why I am still dealing with it. Two surgeries later, no progress. Looks like, more then likely, a third one is on the horizon. After then, hopefully I will be "back on my feet".....alright, that attempt to be funny was pathetic and might very well justify any "dumb" comments. lol
