I am not sure what was really accomplished. With other civil rights battles it was easy to see and feel the change because it was forced on society. Nothing is really accomplished because the same people who don't feel it is legitimate will not suddenly feel that way because a law was changed. The label can be used regardless of its legal standing for friends and family that will willinglingly use it with you and for those that refuse will not feel any different. For instance it doesn't in any way help with family members who refuse to accept your partner/spouse at family events since they don't consider them part of the family. The term victory may have importance that I don't see, I don't know. |

r, what was accomplished will be seen in 10 years, with the new generation, that grows up with gay marriage accepted in the media and law.

The law is pretty insignificant when it comes to personal prejudices. It seems like most media is already pretty accepting and you are right that will make a difference. You are way wishful thinking on the 10 years. Prejudices do not go away easily. |

I still think that the right (of anyone) to marry isn't about personal love between 2 people, but about social acceptance and benefits. Just because
someone has a piece of paper doesn't make the love any more or less real. It just makes life a little easier for the couple.

Lesbians are better at staying with one partner and aren't as promiscious as gay men. I'm happy for them. When Hillary becomes POTUS gay marriage will
be legal in the USA.

I am so happy my state legalized gay marriage. :) :) ^_^
My brother called me in the middle of the day, waking me up, to tell me the news. I was so overjoyed. This weekend, I am going to some gay clubs or bars to celebrate!!! Going to find some husband material! |
