I've been trying to get through the first season as fast as possible, but they take a long time to download. You can watch all the first season episodes here: http://www.sidereel.com/Skins

Is anyone else here a fan of the British T.V. show, Skins? It has just started its second season.

It's a shame no one here at Sucks watches the brilliance that is Skins.
This week's episode was by far the best of the show's two seasons. Loved "Hometown Glory" by Adele at the end. |

I love Skins. The first few episodes in the first season where they introduce each character were amazing. But I heard that they're replacing the entire
cast for next season.

Just watched the first season and I LOVE this show, The pilot was meh and I almost gave up on the show because of it. However Cassie's ep really got me
hooked, my favorite characters were Maxxie, Cassie, Jal, Chris, and Anwar the comic relief.
Hated Tony in the first season but I really felt for him in the season 2 premeire. The new character sketch, boy is she crazy but you feel for her and her mom. Cassie though went from crazy in a sweet way to crazy in a bitchy annoying way but her centric episode really redeemed the character.

I read that they're dumping the entire cast for season 3 and starting fresh with a new group of actors. They plan to do this every two years, to keep the
show fresh.
Not a bad idea actually. |

I just watched the first two series of this show. All I can say is fucking brilliant. Also, I want to have Maxxie's babies...

This show IS brilliant, I have been watching it for the last few months too and it is awesome! I want to have Chris, Tony, Sid and Maxxie's babies too!
This comes on BBC America on Sundays... It rocks! |

This aired during the summer here in Finland and I watched it religiously. I love Maxxie, Effy, Michelle, Jaz, Sketch and Cassie. Can't wait for season 3
and the new cast.

So, I saw the "Jal" episode last week, where she tries to figure out what to do about being pregnant and everything and than Chris goes to the
hospital.
And this last sunday was a "Cassie" episode. And Chris died. Next sunday is the finale..it should be Chris' funeral episode.

Dev Patel (Anwar) is a huge star now, thanks to Slumdog Millionaire.

I never knew there was a thread for this show! It's been my guilty pleasure. Last episode confused me, though. How in the world did Cassie get to New York,
and why?

I might start watching this. I adored Dev Patel in "Slumdog" and want to see him in this show too. I'll see if there is a marathon coming up anytime soon. |

This show is amazing. It's everything American television high school drama aren't. It's realistic portrayal of high school life without sugar
coating anything. Degrassi is good, but Skins is even better. I also like how they don't stretch things out. Once this cast graduated from high school,
they move onto a new cast. So it won't be like Dawson's Creek where Pacey, Joey and Dawson are like retirement age but still in high school.
Seaguy Season 1 comes out on DVD in January. It's already on my Netflix queue. I hope that BBC Anerica would do a weekend marathon of all 10 episodes of the second season. |

I understand that Effy will be the one character returning, as she is a bit younger...

ILC--thanks for the info. I think I'll get the DVD when it is released. Or maybe get a torrent of the entire first and second season and do a marathon. I
absolutely love Degrassi, both the 80s version and the new one. I agree that US high school shows are ridiculous and unrealistic.

ILoveCurling wrote: I don't necessarily agree about the realism. At least I hope not. I think it's actually it's own kind of fantasy about a world where kids have complete freedom (for better or worse) with no meaningful adult interference... |

What I like is that the show gets below the surface of the characters. We get to see what makes them tick. It's not all plot and sex. There is always the
"backside" to the characters like Tony and Effy's mom's dependence on pills, or Sid coping with the death of his dad. How can you not love a
show that makes a musical all about Osama Bin Laden.
