More staggering ignorance. They "failed socially" meaning they weren't embraced by the loser-group always the first to align because they know "outnumber" is their only hope since they can't "outwit" or "outplay".

Losers mobbing up is a natural process and not inherently bad, but under the current system of team-first, individuals-last, it allows losers to skate through so by the time the merge happens, the weakest, most pathetic players not only remain but outnumber the superior players, resulting in boredom and plummeting ratings.

Mongo, I said the final episode rating is worse, not because the show is getting less viewers, but that the viewers are quitting the show mid-season because they just don't care about those who are "Surviving" (or worse, they are disgusted by them.)

So by the time the final ep airs, you don't have survivors, you have the three remaining weaklings, the best of the worst losers, 2 bims and an overweight nurse.
