I love how the reporter acts shocked they voted him off. Um, they are kids. Of course they're going to vote off the autistic kid first. I hope the teacher
puts the rest of the season up on YouTube, I can't wait for the color inside the lines challenge.

If he won the IC, how did he get voted out 14-2. Unless the season started at 18 or 20.

Found a video interview of the mom: Watch the interview
(added into the original post)
Alex's mom, Melissa Barton, says her son has Asperger's Syndrome, which is a form of autism. The school understood all of this in the beginning, and brought in someone to help with Alex a couple of days of week. Everything was okay until last week when Melissa went to pick up her son. At that time Alex told her: "Mommy, fourteen kids voted me out of my class." Melissa at first thought Alex was confused, but then he mentioned the school nurse, so Melissa went to talk to the nurse. Sure enough, the nurse told Melissa to go in and talk to the teacher Ms. Portillo. Ms. Portillo told Melissa exactly what she had done to Alex. She told Melissa she stood Alex up in front of the class and asked his classmates one at a time to tell Alex what they didn't like about him and then took a vote, "Survivor Style," to decide whether or not he was worthy of staying in kindergarten. After the vote was taken Ms. Portillo asked Alex how he felt, and he replied "sad." As Melissa puts it, "this is not Survivor, this is reality, this is a child's life in kindergarten . . . how can anybody possibly decide on if my child is worthy of staying in kindergarten based on a disability?"

Someone got a screencap of the final 6 immunity challenge! So the final 6 is LaShawn (blue/yellow shirt) - The challenge powerhouse Matilda (girl w. blue shirt) - The UTR crybaby Colin (boy w. pirate hat) - The tribe clown who rode coattails Alice (yellow shirt) - The underdog who is out of the loop Ariana (pink shirt) - Another UTR mactor And the girl with the red shirt is either Shelby the bitchy mastermind or Ingvild the girl who moved to the US last year who speaks no English (the public's favortie) |
