I expect China's reputation to slip a bit over time but not Micronesia. China will be in the middle where Exile Island is in a year or two. People liked it because it was return to form after Fiji, traditionalists liked it becaise it had 16 players. But ultimately it had few memorable events (James' boot was truped by S16 postmerge), the the gameplay was essentially a modified pagonging like Outback. So many player's fate was determined by beiing assigned to the physically weaker tribe, and the twist screwed strong leader-type males (Aaron).

Micronesia had so much prejudice to overcome to reach #1.

Damn, 20 players and they're bringing back Parvati and Amanda?
OMG, the wrong alliance has taken control! Fuck you Cirie! How can we have a good strategic game without Jonathan and Fairplay, or girlpower without Ami?

Then the Cirie\Parv\Amanda alliance give us awesomely entertaining postmerge gameplay on par with Amazon and Pearl Islands. The first half was good too (except ep.6-7), as long as you wern't lamenting the defeat of your prereconceived favorites.

If S6 or S7 are your idea of a good season, than S16 belongs in their company. Micronesia doesn't have inflated heroes and villians like Rupert and Fairplay, but not everyone likes that.

The seasons that get stuck in a gameplay rut fair the worst on rewatch. 7 episodes of Ulonging and 6 episodes of Terry's IC streak are the most blatent examples. Same events, same people winning, same people in contol, over and over. That why Palau and EI were popular intitially but don't hold up like S6 and S7.

Micronesia, like Pearl Islands, has frequent changes of pace. S7 has 3 episodes of Dake dominating, 3 or Morgan coming back, then a unqiue merge with the Outcasts, then Fairplay booting Rupert and taking control for 3 episodes, then he and Burton get overthrown at the end.

Micronesia has a similar structure. Just a taste of both original tribes, with each going to TC twice at the start. Then a switch and we see lots of Ozzy and Cirie. Then Parv forms the women's alliance and boots Ozzy, and previous hidden characters emerge (Natalie). You get one episode all about girlpower (Jason boot) followed by one all about Fans vs Faves (Alexis boot). Every character has their moment in the sun (except Mary and Alexis).
