How did Parvati break the glass ceiling? The good girl doesn't beat the masterminds ever. Kelly lost to Rich, Neleh lost to Vee, and Amanda lost to
Courtney AND Todd.
It was simply the same old thing. "Mastermind" wins, even though Parvati is FAR from a mastermind. She just sucked some dick to get to the merge and then relied on fooling around with Natalie like a cheap whore. |

Parvati proved that wrong - the jury voted for a women with mastermind credibility. Cirie could have beat Amanda for the same reason. You can claim she's a dumb whore all you want but Cire, Eliza, and Jonathan all have mad respect for her Micronesia game. |

Parvati and Tina at least show that female jurors will vote for a strategic female.
Parvati - got 100% of girl vote but only 25% of guys Tina - got 75% of girl vote but only 33% of guys Amber - conversely got 67% of guy vote but only 50% of girls. Amanda\Courtney (S15) - together got 50% of guy vote but only 33% of girls. Women at least would rather reward a female strategist than a female coattail rider. |

You say that Parvati broke the glass ceiling by being a female that was a mastermind. Parvati was NOT a mastermind, just an overrated slut. And then you try to compare her to TINA. Tina faced the alpha male that everyone fears would win a vote nowadays. Parvati faced doe-eyed retarded Amanda. She wasn't even able to get more votes than Courtney her first time around and she bitched constantly and people saw her as a HUGE coattail rider from day 1. And then the 2nd time around she faced Parvati, who was the typical goat we'd see nowadays and managed to fuck up AGAIN by not taking credit for her victories. Yes Parvati didn't know that Amanda wouldn't take credit for playing the game in front of the jury, hence her and everyone else saying she'd beat them in a jury vote. Parvati knew this and still planned to go to the end with her, proving she wasn't a smart player if thats the mindset of EVERYONE before the F2 occurred. Parvati played a poor game and like the other UTR females that win, Vee/Sandra/Amber/Danni, she fell face first into good luck to get that win, with the F3 being cut out. Had F3 stayed, you'd get your actual hardcore strategic female winning after a long drought since Tina. |

Oh for fuck's sake. Parvati was the second best player in the entire game. Yes, Cirie would've won had it been final 3, but Parvati played exactly
like Cirie and she positioned herself better to make it to the end of the game. You can call Parvati a slut all you want, but she played an amazing game.

Cirie had more obstacles to overcome and she still made it to the end (or close enough). She and Parvati played very similar games, the only difference is that Parvati already had a pre-game friendship with Ozzy and able to gain more allies from the switch. She won them over just by being herself, a 20-something LA girly girl. I respect both their strategies but I give Cirie a slight edge because the game is stacked against older, less physically-fit women. ETA: Shit, I just wasted my 11,000th post here

Plus, Parvati's a similar demographic to Amanda, which gave her an automatic in. Add to that the fact that Malakal sucked, and thus Cirie couldn't get
any new allies while Parvati had Natalie and Alexis as fallbacks, and Cirie did pretty good given Parvati's good luck.

Parv was willing to take Cirie to the F3, ensuring she wouldn't win. I give her tons of credit for the way she played, but she still wound up in a
scenario where Amanda was the only player left in the game that she could beat, and she needed a F2 to do it.
In any endgame scenario, you do NOT want to be seen as a "tag-along" by the jurors. Too many women hide behind a guy and allow him to get all of the credit. Yul's an example of this, where Becky/Sundra were most definitely carrying him on that chariot-type thing to the win. They succeeded in China and Micronesia, casting aggressive women who were out to win. One problem that's really started to be problematic in the later seasons (especially the seasons with 18 or 20 people) is that they're casting not just one or two, but many male contestants in very good physical shape. When both teams have a few guys like that, it makes it difficult for one team to contemplate voting them out pre-merge when doing so would cause them to be massively outgunned physically. This leads to females getting axed, as they just can't afford to let any males go. |

I agree that Parvati played a good game in Micro but some of her fans are absolutely insane. She was not the best player to ever play the game. Not even close.

involved returning contestants? Given this trend, a woman won't win again until they have a second chance (a cast of contestants booted pre-merge) or an
all winners edition
