After reading some of these replies, I expected much worse. After "Oh say can you see", it was not that bad! Give him a break, the poor guy is
probably exhausted. He hit those high notes with power and strength.

He hit those high notes with power and strength. Normal people call it straining. |

Cammie, thanks for both the interviews. I watched last night and I didn't think he did that bad. Had to be nerve racking with that crowd. To bad the
Celtics lost not a huge Laker fan.

He wasn't THAT bad. Not his best obviously, but seriously. Let's see you get out there in front of a jammed packed Staples Center (with Jack Nicholson staring you down) and see how you do. |

Did any haters just win American Idol? Nobody cares about the NA. But maybe he's not the bestOMGIDOLever.

After the first verse it was excellent.
And honestly, unless he plans on recording it for his cd, I couldn't give a shit. |

My beloved Cookie didn't "suck"....anyone with an ounce of vocal training (I have two degrees in music) can tell you that his voice was tired!
True, it was not his best performance but it wasn't that bad considering his voice was almost GONE!

Unlike me, People Magazine loved David's version so I guess that's all that matters! Hee!
