And much to my surprise, turns out he's one of the internet auditioners. I figure, being that they had that competition, they have to at least let one person from it into the top 22. And he seems as good of a person as any.

Gary Morissette just might be a rockstar...thanks to the intranets |

So one random person stuck out to me tonight, he wasn't on screen for long but when he was he was incredible. He played some mean guitar during Black Horse
and the Cherry Tree and had a equally as good voice. Plus he got a huge complment from Zach...so hopefully that equals good things.

He was good but there are so many singer-songwriter guys like him this season, he might get lost in the shuffle.
Gary MorissetteUpdated Wed. Jun. 18 2008 11:38 AM ET In just a few short months, Gary Morissette has gone from being a construction worker in British Columbia who thought he'd missed his chance to audition, to a member of the Canadian Idol Top 24. "I was really upset that I couldn't make it to the auditions in Vancouver because the Coquihalla Highway was closed due to an avalanche, so when my mom told me about the Last Chance Auditions, I put one together to make sure I got my chance!" Gary made Canadian Idol history in Season 6 as the first-ever competitor to make the Top 24 from the Last Chance Online Audition process. He submitted his audition on video to the Idol website and got a virtual Gold Ticket from the judges in order to have the chance to impress them in person during the Top 200 round. Gary was ecstatic when he made it into the Top 24, expressing his joy by planting a kiss on host Ben Mulroney. "It definitely wasn't planned! I was so pumped I would have kissed anyone standing there, it just happened to be Ben Mulroney." From the very beginning, Gary has viewed his road to Canadian Idol as a dream he is turning into reality. "I learned from the Top 200 round that the strength to succeed is inside me," Gary reflects. "You can harness and transform any negative energy inside you into a positive." This season, Gary promises viewers weekly lessons in what he calls The 3 R's - raw, rowdy, rock 'n' roll performances! Gary considers his sound to be a unique blend of rock greats like John Fogerty, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell - all musicians that are inspirations to him. He stresses that though that he is on his own path, "I am an individual spirit. I want to do what feels natural without trying to be someone else.

I almost DIED when I saw Gary on there.
I went to high school with Gary, didn't know him well but had talked to him a couple times, he was two years older than me and was in my brothers grad class. I'm not surprised he's made it, he's super talented, in all the school events/talent shows Gary would be up there. My brother actually has one of his self-made albums with songs he wrote, its really good. Its funny, his older brother was my grade 12 math teacher; Gary's appearance supposedly has created quite the buzz back home. |

He's OK.. a bit to "gruff" for me. Not much melody to his voice.

love like a bomb |

Never mind! I found the thread.
Nevertheless, while still a total suckfest, that performance was better than Jaydee's rendition. |

He's the only guy from my province that will most likely make the Top 10. I guess I'll root for him now.
I'd like for both him and Paul to make it though. |

I'd like for him and Paul to make it too but I think only 1 will (probably Paul).

Well, Gary is the only one left from my province.
BC just didn't care about Shaun and Paul. |

My Gary!!!
but it's his fault though, i always hate that kind of performance. He did a promising intro, and then 1 2 3 4 bam bam bam. I dun like when someone punkify a song just for the sake of it. |

Haha. No BC in the top ten this year. Now, that's a first.
The producers should just hold the auditions at the Fraser Valley region instead since pretty much most of the BC finalists that advance to the top ten come from that area anyway. If there was an Abbotsfordian this season, he/she still would've made top ten. |
