Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible. Again disappointed that Airai had to go to tribal council again, but at least the merge was next week and was hoping for Jason to go over the other 3. I liked the complexity of the Malakal strategy scene at the beginning of the episode and you definately had me convinced they were finally going to tribal. Very sad to see Joel go, especially in that way. He was my winner pick and the stuff you wrote about his family made me root for him even more. Joel Also Brooke pointed out what I was thinking in that Aras's alliance now has the numbers. So maybe a good thing they won. Also having a feeling Aras's alliance will be broken at the merge, but definately not a Pagonging because you're never that boring. (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible. Great episode! Lots of drama, and even though two major characters were out plenty are still left so the story definately won't die. I liked the challenges and, surprisingly, the EI scenes too. Usually I find them pretty boring but this episode they worked out really well and actually gave good character development and story development too. I thought it would've been Malakal's time to go to council now, mainly because only four people made the pre-TC part pretty plein. But the TC itself was then again good with the idol and all. (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Kathy and Tracy talking about their relationship and status in the game. (C) What would you rate this episode out of 10? Tracy As long as she's not becoming overly positive, it looks good for her. 2. Aras May be a bit surprising. The beginning of his story wasn't that special, but now it's really starting to pick up and I could see him go all the way. A wild card, see below. 3. Brooke Still got the numbers, but it bothers me how she was portrayed in the battle with Aras in the latest couple of episodes. It would've been so easy to make her the underdog winner who beats all the odds, but now the fight made her look bitter and a sour loser. Not what winner would be. Instead, the fight made Aras look very good as he was shown as more of a player as well as a likeable outcast in the fans group. 2) Based on Edgic, which Survivor(s) do you think are not eligible to be the winner, and are therefore "eliminated?" Ian - 2 INVs now, and the fact that he's in the secret scenes way too often = his scenes are not important Sherea - an INV now, and no story after episode 1 Mary - an INV, and way too ignored in the early episodes Alexis - Way too ignored overall Kathy - Even after this episode still too one-dimensional Mikey - Overly negative early on, after which he disappeared NOT LOOKING GOOD: Eliza - Now that Jason is gone she is by far the most visible player out there. Looks like a simple distraction to me.

But I liked it and now I'll comment on this episode. COMMENTS & QUESTIONS (A) What did you think of this episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible. I liked this episode. I did like that Airai won the reward challenge but it totally sucked they lost the Immunity Challenge again!!! But I do like their dynamics better becuase a Malkal loss would have been a predictable Sherea boot. You did a good job this episode becuase I didn't really like Joel this episode but I did feel sorry for him that he had to leave. his edit was weird and I'm glad you gave some notes to why his edit was that way and why he left. The only think is I thought he was the only male who had a shot to win and now that he's gone I'm 90% sure a female will win this season. (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Eliza telling Mikey B. that he should use the idol. Her plan was to get Jason out (and whether that was a good idea only time will tell), but she played it perfectly to get Jason out. I do think that Mikey B/ has a lot of power of her now though. If he tells Tracy that Eliza was conspiring with him, then Tracy may question her loyalty to Eliza. But I really liked Eliza this episode. She is playing this game hard and playing this game to win, which is always fun to watch. (C) What would you rate this episode out of 10? Anyway this episode was great, I remembered you talked about a medivac at the start of the series, but I honestly thoguht it would have been Brooke for some reason. I was surprised to see Joel go like that, he was likable much more than the show, but there is just somthing about him that never made me like him. I understand the disappointment of having Airai go to Tribal Council again and having Joel evacuated like that. The good news is that this speeds the merge up one episode, so we will finally see that post-merge dynamic played out. Glad you liked the Malakal strategy scene at the beginning (I did too), and it wasn't leading up to them going to Tribal Council as much as it was leading up to Joel's medevac, and stuff that happens after the merge. Yes, interestingly, I've never done a Pagonging. Not that it couldn't ever happen, but I agree that it does make for a few kindof boring episodes bc they're a little more predictable. But in a way, so is having a tribe winning every challenge so we'll see. 9.5 Even with Joel Thanks for not letting the loss of one of your favorites affect your vote. I'm glad you were still able to enjoy the episode. Second to China higher than the rest but that may soon change the season's not over yet. :) Okay, that's good. That's what I think too. I'm getting a little tired of EI in general, and it's really hard to come up with unique things to have happen out there. Yep, it would have potentially been better to make Malakal go to Tribal Council. They would have had a better strategy scene with Brooke trying to guilt Ian into voting with her/Sherea/Kathy, and at least there would have been 7 people involved. I glanced back at it a while ago, and I like it since it is the first season I ever did, but there are quite a few things that I would change about it now. I doubt I ever will, but I would almost like to redo it just because I think I could improve it. Some of the individual scenes, I think, were poor, but the overall story was good. But it does have a special feeling of being my original season. Thanks for your Episode 9 predictions (very interesting!) and for filling out the Popularity Poll! As you saw in my notes, I wanted you to be happy for Airai winning the Reward and then sad for them losing Immunity - if only the challenges could have been switched, but you're right that Sherea would have most likely gone if Malakal lost. That still wouldn't have necessarily spelled the end of Brooke/Kathy, but Aras' group would have got a little more power. Good to see that you felt sorry for Joel even if you didn't really like him. With 7 women and only 3 men, it does seem likely that a woman will pull it off this time. The current count of my winners is 3/3, so it really could go either way this time. Eliza is just a great character because she's strategic, she's always got something to say, she's got great reactions, she annoys people, so she can be put in pretty much anywhere in the story and it will be great, which is why she's been shown so much. I enjoyed reading them, as always, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts! :) Sorry I didn't comment on Episode 7, I was out of state for the week, was able to read, but couldn't comment. Anyway this episode was great, I remembered you talked about a medivac at the start of the series, but I honestly thoguht it would have been Brooke for some reason. I was surprised to see Joel go like that, he was likable much more than the show, but there is just somthing about him that never made me like him. I liked Jasons boot, like Jeff said he was saved and taken out by the Idol. No worries about not commenting last week. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to reply, because I know you're all very busy too and I appreciate the people that do share their thoughts and offer feedback, but if you're too busy, then please don't feel like you have to reply. I appreciate that you wanted to comment though and were't able to. :) Glad you thought this was a great episode. I know there wasn't really much leading up to Joel being the one evacuated but in the last episode, I did have a clip where I said "Joel can be seen haphazardly chopping into a coconut," or something along those lines and then on Exile Island, I believe he said to Mikey "Watch your hand," when Mikey was cutting a coconut. If it wasn't last week, it was definitely in an episode somewhere. I tried to have that little bit of foreshadowing even though it wasn't anything big. Also, glad to see that you found Joel a lot more likeable than the show, and I also liked Jeff's comment about Jason being saved and taken out by the idol. I felt like a lot of his story revolved around the H.I.I/Exile. 10 Thank you very much! I really appreciate that! :) Joel: If you would have stayed and lost the Immunity Challenge, who would you have sided with? This is tough to say, but most likely, he (and Kathy) would have sided with Brooke/Sherea to vote out Alexis or Mary. Why? Because Mary would give Aras Immunity. Also, they would have tried to get Ian to vote with them, and Ian probably wouldn't vote out Aras anyway. Also, whoever the votes are for get Immunity if it was deadlocked, so Alexis/Mary and Sherea would be immune, so if Mary DIDN'T give Aras Immunity, he'd still be vulnerable. There would have been a purple rock, and I don't know who would have went in that case, but it would give Joel a 50% chance of eliminating one of Aras' alliance. It would be a risk though because Joel/Brooke/Kathy would be vulnerable. I know that sounds a little confusing, but that's probably how it would go. (B) Next week, the two tribes merge. Do you have any other predictions for Episode 9? The Airais try and get the non couples to join up with them, but BKS will stay with Malakal next ep, , they will still have a 5-4 advantage over the couples but they can have a 3-2 majority over the controlling alliance instead of a 3-3 tie Thanks for your Episode 9 predictions. I didn't get this at first, but I see what you're saying now and it is a very insightful thought. So you are saying that the Malakals will stick together to vote out either Eliza or Mikey. It would more than likely be Mikey, btw. Then, Brooke/Sherea/Eliza/Tracy/Kathy would have 5-4 over Aras' group, and Brooke/Sherea/Eliza would have 3-2 over Tracy/Kathy. That actually sounds very smart, and it's something that could be brought up in some way very soon. In the real show that's usually very bad for the tribe that got ignored (Airai) and their winner chances -Yay Malakal finally loses another challenge, they lost reward. -Wow, Joel leaves the game from medical injuries just like that. I always thought he felt like a guy who's numbers may be good, but who never felt like a winner based on their content, so perhaps I should rethink my winner rankings some, considering I've had Joel as #1 for a few episodes in a row. -I really hope that Malakal loses the immunity challenge, but I'm not sure anymore. Some kind of a shake up is going to happen in the tribe that loses I think. Aras or one of Jason's trio is going home. -Umm... this makes no sense, why would Mikey believe that Tracy wants Jason gone over Eliza? That plan sounds awful stupid, just tell Mikey "yeah it's Eliza tonight" like he's been thinking it was, Mikey never even floated the idea of getting rid of Jason to Tracy yet. -About to read TC, I'm guessing Mikey goes home based on some past hints he might not make it to the merge, but I'm not too confident about that right now -Now TC is getting really good with all of these conflicting stories, and Mikey sort of calling people out, I wonder if Eliza might go home instead now by Mikey getting Jason's immunity. -Oh, I forgot that Mikey can't get it again after giving it to Jason COMMENTS & QUESTIONS (A) What did you think of this episode? Here's my list, from best to worst China (gap) Cook Islands (gap) AllStars Micronesia (gap) Fiji (bigger gap) Exile Island I know I used to have Allstars, Fiji, and Cook Islands as near ties, but I've kind of changed my mind since then. Fiji just had too long of a slow spell after the merge hit, and was really predictable from that point on until the finale, though it did have maybe the best finale ever out of all your fanfics. I think that Cook Islands really stood out more then All Stars even though they were nearly equal in terms of entertainment value, and allstars had more... disappointments that tend to come in allstar seasons about some people not doing as well as they should have based on their past reputation. I think Micronesia is much better off in terms of being protected from that disappointment, since I cared a lot less about most of these favorites then a lot of other people in allstars, a lot more of them are people who there just wasn't enough room for in allstars since there were too many other better favorites to put in there. At the moment Micronesia can really go anywhere, up or down, but no matter what happens I doubt it's beating China in terms of being the best season ever, or exile island for being the most boring. I was worried that Mikey wouldn't play the idol, glad he did but sorry to see Jason go cause he's a good character. The women def have the numbers going intot he merge, I wondr how this will play out... hopefully the guys can put something together and avoid being picked off. Good episode, can't wait fot eh merge!

I'm glad you could appreciate the way Joel went out of the game as far as being interesting to read - even though you didn't like to see him go like that. As for the editing, it was more divergent than the past few have been with 5 people being UTRish (Alexis, Ian, Aras, Sherea, Mary) and then 3 that were very dominant (Joel, Jason, and Eliza), with the rest in the middle. Now that two big characters are gone though, it leaves more room for everyone else, including Alexis and Ian, who were very ignored, as you said. Yes, and I also thought his edit was strange how he went MOR-CP-MOR-CP for every episode. It wasn't planned that way, that's just how it worked out in terms of his story and his role in the episodes. Tracy was going to independently talk to Mikey about voting off Jason because of him being a threat. Or they'd say that Eliza talked to Tracy. Something. But Mikey didn't believe that Tracy wanted Jason gone - that's one of the reasons why he was suspicious, but he also figured that Eliza would be kept around to ensure the votes from the Favorites, so he kindof knew he would be on the chopping block. Funny that Fiji went down on your list - it went up on mine a little bit, even though I definitely agree that some of the merge episodes were boring and predicable. Still, I liked some of the dynamics between Lisi/Michelle, Lisi/Rocky, Earl/Yau-Man, Earl/Lisi, etc. etc. And of course the finale didn't hurt the season either. Cook Islands, then, went down a little as Fiji went up. It's almost the opposite because I think the first 4ish episodes of Cook Islands are not that great, but 5/6 and most of the merge ones are pretty decent. All-Stars is a season with some good and some bad for me. It just has this weird feeling around it partially because it's an All-Stars, I think. In general, I'm kindof over writing a season with returning players. It loses its appeal with me after a certain point. I agree with you that China won't be topped by this season, or perhaps ever. Micronesia will still be pretty good from here on out, and while it still might end up as my second favorite (at least for now), it probably won't beat China. I probably shouldn't admit that because, of course, I want everyone to be excited for the rest of the season, but I'm just being honest about how I feel about them.
