I heard the breakdown was Jessica wanted to quit - at least that was the buzz at the taping last week. She must feel worse now, since Matt was one of her
closest friends there (I guess they both understood what it was like to be excessively nitpicked by Nigel).

I remember that! I think it was Joy, and they were doing the samba. He was trying to teach her the move they had to do, and she was disagreeing with him (because what would Dmitri know about samba, right?), and he got firm with her and put her in her place. I heard the breakdown was Jessica wanted to quit - at least that was the buzz at the taping last week. She must feel worse now, since Matt was one of her closest friends there (I guess they both understood what it was like to be excessively nitpicked by Nigel). But Nigel implied that they BOTH had breakdowns. This could be wishful thinking, but I hope there's footage of Will crying and screaming somewhere. If it's true about Jessica, then that's really sad. Her and Matt never cought a break from the judges.

I don't see what's so wrong with Jessica anyway. She's got strong legs that always look "engaged" (... meaning not flopping around or
looking sloppy), and she's pretty. I think she's a much better dancer than Kherington. Kourtni was too.

I can't even believe Nigel told Comfort he voted against her. There was no way Matt was leaving and K was staying. br |

Both their routines received negative comments, which I believe were blamed on the choreography. The show has been adding so many new choreographers, they're probably looking to dump a few of the lamer ones. And isn't this the first season since they've been introduced that C&O didn't do any judging ? |

Yeah, I don't get what the Jessica hate from the judges is all about either. I thought both her performances last week were great, and while Will may be
good, I'm not blown away by anything he's done yet. Is anyone else also thinking that the choreography is extremely weak this season? Only in this
last episode did it start to pick up with the Jive and Mandy Moore's routines, but last season and season 2 had excellent numbers from the beginning. The
Broadway routines completely sucked, btw, and they should just fire Cicily and Olessa or whatever the hell her name is. Or better yet, they should just fire
everyone except (maybe) Mandy Moore and start over.

I do agree that a lot of the choreography has been sub-par, but as someone already said, they have to choreograph moves that the dancers can actually do. So if
you have a bunch of sub-par dancers, you're going to have sub-par choreography, or be hidden by a large object for a large portion of a dance.

^^what Cindi said. Last season the choreography got harder and harder each week. It seems to be getting worse this season. I really just don't feel it
for any of these dancers other than Josh and Katee (maybe Twitchington too) because they are the only ones that seem to be getting better not worse. Even Anya
who was considered by the judges to not be able to continue (due to her solo's) because she was so used to a partner kicks all these kids arses in
solo's.

They always save the great routines for the top ten so they can take them on tour.

Maybe, but it still doesn't explain how I can remember Jesus, Ashlee and Faina from a season ago and not a single one of these goofballs names let alone
their dances other than Josh and Katee.

I've been thinking the same....
This seasons solo's & contestants can't compare to the previous. Like Allison for example, |

I just don't get WHY the judges feel the need to manipulate. What's in it for them? Isn't it going to be the best show (and thereby the most
successful and profitable show) if the best and most beloved dancers naturally rise to the top? Why would it be in ANYONE'S best interest to overpraise
mediocrity or overcriticize excellence?
On a related note, with all of the Jessica fans here, do any of you actually think she is one of the better DANCERS? Or is your affinity for her based on sympathy or some other reason? Yeah, she did much better this week, but the first three weeks were PAINFULLY bad! As for the Marquis/Gev "tricks" argument, the answer is, it makes no difference. Tricks were not the real reason Marquis was eliminated. He couldn't partner with a woman. That's why he got cut. Still, after his excellent solo, they had to say SOMETHING so that it wouldn't be such a "WTF" moment, so Nigel made up the "tricks" argument. It's not actually an issue, which is why it was not held against Gev...

I think Nigel, as a producer, doesn't want the same "type" of person constantly winning. Type meaning race, gender, style of dancing. I guess he
thinks people will lose interest if a white guy who captures the hearts of teenage women and older women keeps winning. I can't say Sabra winning was
manipulation but Nigel definitely was pushing the women last year. This year, I think, will be the year of the hip-hopper.
