It's far more important not rock the boat this early, especially when you have two people (Jessie & Renny) who just completely OFFERED themselves up to be nominated and they themselves couldn't even argue against it. Being that Jerry was thrown into the HOH position w/o his say so, he got completely lucky that Jessie and Renny both self-destructed this early on.

And as HOH he could either make friends or be the one to ruffle feathers from the get go. Jessie/Renny gave him an easy out. Nobody is going to be mad at him over those nominations and they are probably already focused on their week two games.

The way I see it, Jerry is the first HOH, a position that is usually not a good one to be in as you've got to nominate people off the bat barely knowing them, which can certainly put you in a bad position for later in the game. We all saw how much people like Amanda, Kail, Jase, etc... were HOH in week 1 and put a big target on their backs right away with their behavior and/or nominations. Jerry made the smartest nomination decisions I can think of as I can hardly think of anyone being pissed at him for making them. He had an easy excuse with Jessie & Renny's fight. Things will certainly get trickier for him if the veto's used.

The worst spot to be in, other than a main target of the house, would be to end up as Head of Household. You base your nominations on little to no information, and you are potentially getting rid of somebody who could have been incredibly useful to you later in the game. Plus, as HOH, you can easily become a target for the incumbent HOH if you make any mistake, no matter how minute it may be. Jerry saw an easy out, took it, and if it doesn't work, he will then have at least a few days to make a much better decision of who to put up as a POV replacement, thus leading to a backdoor move that works to his advantage. It's the best move he could make right now, IMO. I hate saying that when Dan was right there for the picking.

I dont think he upset anyone other than the two he nominated. Thats the best you can hope for as the first HoH. That being said I hope the fucking meathead gets his ass booted. I need at least a couple of weeks of feeds of that crazy old hag.
