If you are implying I am subjectively wishing he goes rather than objectively thinking he'll go that's not the case.I think you're misinterpreting me. You said you didn't see any way Mark was staying and I said fear as to indicate that fear is a powerful motivator. Should have made that clearer but what I meant is fear will drive some of his fans to vote harder (esp. those who think he was screwed over this week) so that may be the one thing that saves him. I agree he was the worst but he's generated a lot of good will. I'm going to stay positive and hope his fanbase pulled him through. |

swim4life227 wrote: Actually, and I could be wrong, but I think what the poster was saying is that "fear" would be the way he would stay, as in, fear by his fanbase
that he will be eliminated which would most likely spur them to vote like crazy. I got that by the poster adding that they got busy signals for him and he was
number two at Dial Idol and I definitely see that argument.

I know Katee and Chelsea get most of the 'lady pimpage' but I really loved Courtney tonight (and in the past weeks) I think she's under-rated.
Overall: Loved Gev/Chelsea/Courtney/Joshua Comfort is anything but comfortable and I also think Will is one FINE DANCER (rip that shirt off boy!)...YES I DO.......... woot woot! |

So much Will hate here. The B'way routine was a bit ho hum (the part in the boat was really boring). But other than the bobble with the split spin, I didn't see (and I studied it carefully on rewatch) any other errors or mistakes on Will's part for all the talk of a mistake filled routine. Both of them were amazing in the pas de deux, which had fantastic choreography and two of the most spectacular lifts I've ever seen on the show. It was the first time this year I got chills, and I got them twice. For me, that was the best routine of the year. OTOH, Twitch and Comfort's hip hop wasn't even the best HH routine of the year much less EVAR. No tricks, and redundant movements -- kind of bored me, really. I thought after the criticism of the Waltz that Twitch may not be TCO after all, but then it was back to overpraising again. It's odd that Twitch gets just as much overpraising and pimping as Will but all the hate is on Will instead. At least Will is a great dancer and not just coasting on shtick.

I think you're misinterpreting me. You said you didn't see any way Mark was staying and I said fear as to indicate that fear is a powerful motivator.I would agree but the critiques for Mark weren't overally negative to create the average viewer to be scared. In fact, if you listened they sort of brushed over him tonight and made more hits at Kherington than they did at him. It's not like they explicitly said, YOU WERE HORRIBLE, YOU ARE IN DANGER AND/OR GOING HOME. There was none of that, which is why as an experienced reality tv watcher, I'm not seeing how he stays. I hope I'm wrong. Also, I don't think Chels is in any danger. I think she has more of her own fans rather than splitting them with Mark. Kherington is going to be Martha'd and Mark is going to be Kam'd <3. |

It's actually not so much Will hate, for me - it's more hatred of the way the judges treat him
He's good, but he's not the GOD they try to make him out to be It's ridiculous!!! Still loving Joshua and Mark! They both exude dance out of every pore of their bodies |

I would agree but the critiques for Mark weren't overally negative to create the average viewer to be scared. And I would normally agree with this but I've been checking some other boards and polls. The average viewer may not care but his fans are freaked out. Fear does nothing for the average viewer but it does a lot for a fan. A lot of his fans seem to think he was screwed over in partner and dance styles (not saying it's true but it's the running sentiment). Yours truly just gave him 400 votes and I don't ever vote. I don't want to be overly optimistic but it's too soon for me to be truly pessimistic. I think he may just barely pull through. But like it would mater - they'll pair him with Comfort if she stays. |

azcanadienne wrote: I understand your POV, because I have similiar issues with Twitch. But that Pas De deux was insanely well danced with the exception of a bobble on a trick that appeared to be a lack of (superhuman) flexibility on Katee's part. I'm just kind of mystified that the critiques here are overwhelmingly negative. |

True. Listen, I can't say anything for certain about how fan bases and boards work for this show. But the raw votes on Dial Idol have been accurate every
week when it comes to the person in first (definitely not in the bottom 3) and last (definitely in the bottom 3). And this week it's Mark in first for the
guys, Katee for the girls for most of the night so far. Maybe the change to individuals will change that accuracy rate? I can only hope not.

(Hanson you need to go over to the Canadian Idol SAB thread and work some of your magic. Or at least do one good one of Mark Day and I will be your bff.

I just have this very odd feeling it is Twitch going home tomorrow. the fervor seems to be dying down, and Gev has slowly built quite a following (he would be
the most obvious choice for going home, but I think he has grown on people). I think most people are willing to give Mark a second chance, since he has not
sucked to this point. On the women's side, it is likely Comfort.

Mark and Kherington's jazz routine would have been so much better with some Napoleon Dynamite moves.

Blastie's quick takes -
1st of all we finally get rid of Comfort and Jessica bails so she's back? I don't care what went down tonight, I want Comfort gone and if Kherington goes before her, that's just fucked up. Josh/Courtney - I thought the hip hop choreo was shit and the song was unbearable. It was danced fine but what they were given sucked. The Rumba was amazing! Shit was that hot and much better than any I have seen even on Dancing With the Stars. That was my 2nd favorite rourtine of the night and was danced perfectly. Kher/Mark - The country dance was awkward and horrible. I didn't know what it was supposed to look like but Mark/Kher didn't sell the feel, the characters and the hand movements were weird and disconnected. I noticed all that before the judges commented which I think means everything. The Jazz was a bunch of meh. I really didn't care. Comfort/Twitch - The Waltz was complete crap. The hip hop was great - danced well, good song, good choreo but their 1st dance was so bad that at the end of the day, flourishing in your own freaking genre isn't exactly gold star worthy. The challenge of stepping outside the box ended in failure. Katee/Will - I knew the judges would tongue bathe them so I paid close attention to the Broadway routine and WTH is all I can say. They sold the characters well and there was great energy but amazing dancing? Please...Not much actual dancing there..it was more acting and arm movements then anything else. The second dance, the ballet one was amazing and my favorite of the night. I am so glad that they got that dance together b/c I don't think any other male could have pulled that off and Katee was amazing and prob. the best for the female role as well. Gold. Gev/Chelsie - The contemporary piece was really nice and I thought both sold it well. The Jive was good as well but I would hope Chelsie outdanced Gev since ballroom is her thing. SOLOS - Will, Katee and Courtney outdanced them all by miles. I want Comfort and Twitch to go home. My favorites are Courtney/Katee and Josh and I gave 30 votes to Courtney since I thought she needed them the most out of my favs. |
