I had to look up who Terri was. They showed her enough last night in a few confessionals, she wasn't really being shown for no reason.

So, I haven't read the thread yet, because I just started watching the episode, but so far I love Kelli's bleach and dye dress, and I fucking hate
Blayne. He looks like a dirty crackwhore.

Damn, a couple of the models looked kind of busty! I bet they won't last long, lol.

Not a big fan of the fruit salad mumu, but at least it didn't fit the same dull silhouette that we see over and over. Plastic cups, kind of cool and good
execution. I think the right person got the boot, tho plastic bag lady probably only got saved so she can create the drams later on. Even so, I kind of like
what she tried to do -- it just showed really poor foresight.

The thing I loved about the plastic cups dress was the way he made the top of the dress look like stacked cups.

They come out of the bag that way.
Sorry to sound like such a hater cuz I really like the dude, I just don't get the plastic cup hype. The person I was with said "BORING" when he saw it so I know I'm not alone. :shrugs |

My BIGGEST criterion is whether or not I find the outfit flattering to the wearer. For whatever reason, I thought the plastic cup dress WAS flattering.
Shocking, though, given it was made of such an unyielding material...

Plastic cup dress was okay and only daring because everyone else played it so safe it was practically geriatric on the runway. I wish he had made it pop more
though. I understand the material was diffcult to work with, but it still was kind of blah design-wise.
The winning dress was awesome, except for the coffee fileter/coconut shaped bodice. It just wasn't flattering at all. Salad bowl dress was a a top three because of execution and presentation, and that will get the designer far in the competition because it certainly doesn't look like many other designers have that down. Blayne's outfit was Santino-esque, except better executed. He at least knows how to sew properly. I'm also surprised Bravo execs didn't put a moratorium on his "Girlicious" musings because I'm sure that phrase is copy-written by the CW. Impressed by the mop top outfit, the bottom, however, was lackluster. SLC boy is the finest guy this season. And if highwaters insists on wearing granny shorts the entire season I may just have to kill him. |

I just remembered the dodgeball/lawn chair outfit. That one was pretty good AND pretty daring. Any thoughts?

I noticed that the plastic cup dress had the same design/"pattern" on the hips that someone did with fabric last season and the judges crucified it.
I could have sworn they said it made her hips look big which was a no no.

I wasn't overly impressed by the end designs in the first ep; the only two I thought really stood out were Joe and Kelli's, and Kelli totally deserved
the win.
Was a bit surprised at how badly Jerry's project turned out...he's a pretty good designer, but I guess he's not a out-of-the-box kind of guy. I don't know if his was necessary the worse one, they probably chose to boot him over the biker "rock'n'roll" woman or fake-tan boy, (whose creations were much worse, IMO) since those two have more drama potential. I was also a bit annoyed by tan-boy's t-shirt...does anyone know what it said under "Tom Ford"? Oh, since I've only read the last two pages of this thread, I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but wasn't it Jerry's Bryant Park show the female models from Make Me a Super Model had their first runway challenge? |
