This is what I have to say about clear backpacks: Clearly childhood innocence and a police state mentality CAN walk hand-in-hand.

God, those things are going to rip to shreds within the first week of school. Do you know how much crap kids pack into backpacks? There is no way they hold
up to the weight, and the being thrown on the floor and stepped on.

Look at it this way...in some schools they don't have lockers anymore, they outlawed backpacks, they require kids to carry their books and note
books....just like the elderly olden days when I was a kid.

Cause ya know, clear backpacks are really gonna be the deciding factor as to whether a kid shoots up a school.
I've never heard anything like this happening in my area. |

Can't you just hollow out your history book and put your gatt in there? That's what I did.
And, as a a sidenote, that was the least violent history book on campus. |

I do think drugs may be part of the reason, but it won't help. Are they going to have pocket checks daily?
Unfortunately weapons are a big problem and not just in depressed areas. too many kids are bullying those less fortunate than themselves and i'm afraid this practice is a old as prostitution and will never change. |

I didn't use a backpack until I went to college.
No chance in heck I'd walk around with a Saran Wrap knapsack. Ironically, that might make me want to something violent. |

My son had to have the mesh one for school in 7th grade. They were hard to find and never on sale. I was really pissed when they switched to normal ones in 8th
grade, I was hoping he could use it another year. His school was in a nice area too - I think it was just a school district thing, not that particular school
that had a problem.
