BTW I think you problem with 42 days has more to do with editing and the boringness of the Outback F3. In S12 and S15 they essentially had the same thing, with one player eliminated in the final episode. Shane was booted day 33, and Cirie day 36.

Well that's been proven, but it's definitely not why Fiji sucked. If they had casted for entertainment purposes instead of just trying to fill the race quota, it would have been much better no matter how many of each there were.

Well I thought both of those were pretty boring finales. I didn't like how they wasted time doing reward challenges when they're leaving in 2 days. Only thing notable in Exile was Terry barely beating Aras in that challenge. China was better (even though I couldn't watch Amanda and her crying bullshit), but all the talk about Denise trying to survive went on for way too long. Without Courtney there, the only thing berable about that finale was the jury questioning.

48. Mutiny

The mutiny, to me at least, is one of those twists that looks great on paper yet failed miserably. When it was announced in Thailand, I thought it was a great idea that could help shake things up. Sure the tribe they disbanded would hate them, but it could make for some entertaining moments. I was pulling for Stephanie to jump ship and start fitting in with Chuay Gahn. Not only because I was hoping she'd do well, but I wanted Chuay Gahn to somehow catch up in numbers. Unfortunately, she didn't and left later that episode.

In Pearl Islands, we didn't even see it because nothing happened and no one switched. So two failed attempts. Six seasons later, the producers decided to bring it back into the mold, and damn, I was pissed off . A great concept that could help people change their fate and give us some entertaining stuff had failed so much because of other twists and biased editing. After Candice and Jonathan switched, the editors decided to throw EVERYONE under the bus except people who were involved in the mutiny. That's just messed up. 12 people are left in the game, but 6 arn't involved in the mutiny (and two who are, are boring) so let's shove this down the viewers throats. All they had to do was show Aitu's reaction to them leaving once. That's it, just them complaining once. Then, you could show Jonathan's and Candice's reasons, and same with Raro. You don't have to turn the entire season into Survivor: The Mutiny. To say the least, I was dissappointed because I was a fan of it during Thailand which is the only reason it makes it all the way to 48.























47. Saboga dissolved

Another good twist in theory. The third place tribe in the reward challenge gets dissolved by the other two school yard pick style. It was actually a great reward challenge with alot of funny quotes. Each tribe had to build a boat like structure out of wood that they were given. Saboga spent the most time by far out of the three (because Rupert wanted redemption after building the worst shelter in history), and still came in last while Mogo Mogo didn't do jackshit yet still won while even carrying "two hundred sixty pounds a Hatch".

The only problem with this is that if the producers had decided to do a regular tribal swap here, the post merge could have been up to par with the two seasons that preceded it instead of a boring pagonging. That's the reason it makes it this low.









































46. Tribes divided by Age/Gender


Seasons: Exile Island

Exile Island started off the season dividing into 4 tribes by age and sex, great. It allows us to see how different age groups (Beefcakes, Golden Girls, Spice Girls, and the Love Boat) worked together. Two obvious problems though, the older women stood no chance, and the tribes only lasted for one episode. The reason it's much higher than the Cook Islands division (of one tribe standing no chance) is because seeing the dynamics here was great of the young guys not caring enough to make a shelter, the young girls reaction to Courtney finding a dead turtle, older men working their asses off, and of course the older women's tribal council. Still, not enough to make it any higher.

There was an off camera mutiny option in Pearl Islands? During what episode? And where to hell did this information come from? I don't recall hearing it from any of the Pearl Island cast members, nor do I remember it being in the episode commentary in the DVD release.

I can't remember the source, but I've heard it more than a few times. If I'm wrong, my bad on that one, but I'm pretty sure there was.
